Which Grant Fuhr are we talking 'bout?
the mighty nose or the mighty glove?
(he sure stole this one tonight!)

Make no mistake about it, Ryan Miller the Buffalo goalie deserved all the credit in the world for winning game 2.the rusty tromb said:Ryan Miller is the white Grant Fuhr.
looking like a good prediction so farScenicdrive said:The Sabres, with the Devils are the two teams in the Eastern Conference to peak at the right time for the playoffs. The Sabres won back to back shut outs with a convincing 4-0 win against the Hurricanes tonight. The Sabres will play the Flyers for the first round starting this Saturady and should be able to defeat the Flyers and go into the next round. The way things go, it may very well be the Sabres against the Devils in the Conference Final. The Devils are a formidable team as of now but the good doc will take the fearless Sabres to win the Conference title if they hit all the cylinders in full stride. If so, the Sabres can beat any team in the Western Conference and shall take the Stanley Cup home this time around.![]()
Thanks, red. Yes, so far so good, the Cinderella story continues....red said:looking like a good prediction so far
It certainly looks like the Sabres will play the Hurricanes for the Eastern Conference final.Neverenuff$ said:Sabers are looking good, but it seems the Habs may have woke the 'canes up
(P.S the sens have never came back from being 2 down ... maybe they are due !!)
The Sens deserve no credit..they choked...three losses on your home ice???.... totally unforgiveable...the Sens may be the best team in the NHL on paper and in the regular season when it doesn't matter, but this team has no real heart. Alfreeddson is not a leader...he cannot get this incredibly talented team anywhere..just check out their playoff record over the last 9 yrs..and I think Alfreddson has bee there for most of it... couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of chokers.. ROFLMAO !!!.......so much for you Ottawa fans blowing smoke about how this was your year...and enough from you Ottawa fans piling on the Leafs..Ottawa's playoff failures put them in a loser's class all by themselves..and the way they lost tonights game??...absolutely priceless...Scenicdrive said:The good doc believes we should give the Senators more credit than it appears. These were all very close, tight one goal games. The Senators are indeed a superior team.
Hahahaha....So the good doc is being too nice to the mighty Senators??? LOL!!! I do not dislike any hockey team. It is just that they cannot stand in the Sabres' way this season.new2game said:The Sens deserve no credit..they choked...three losses on your home ice???.... totally unforgiveable...the Sens may be the best team in the NHL on paper and in the regular season when it doesn't matter, but this team has no real heart. LOL!!! Perhaps we should think about different senses of ‘powerful’. The Senators are arguably the most talented NHL team this season with dominating offensive and defensive players. So it is only fitting to call them ‘powerful’ or mighty. Many will agree that before and when the playoff began, they were favored to win the Stanley Cup. Obviously with such a huge expectation came a huge disappointment when they came up short. Make no mistakes about the games, the Sabres were under the gun from the powerful Senators the majority of the games in the series. The Sabres countered with great team work, rock solid goaltending, and most important of all, they were more masterful in grasping the intangibles, which I summarily called ‘the force’. They won by out-determining, out-lasting, out-willing, and out-hustling the mighty Senators. In the final analysis, the collective heart of a never quit, fearless young team was too much for the mighty Senators to handle. If you call that particular attribute of the Sabres powerful, so be it. Those who master ‘the force’ certainly are powerful indeed.Swords69 said:Hmmmm... I really don't think the adjective 'powerful' can any longer be used in the same sentence with 'Senators'. Let's see... do the math:
Was it one or both of the Senators' goals that were scored on a 5 on 3 matchup??? Oh yeah, one was just on a simple power play.
Was the OT winner by the Sabres short-handed??? Uh-huh.
Was the Sabres best player -- Connolly -- MIA from almost the entire series???
Didn't the Sabres take 3 of the 4 wins IN OTTAWA???
Hmmm...
Methinks powerful now belongs to the Sabres !!!
No argument, there, doc. Only one more thing to add...Scenicdrive said:In the final analysis, the collective heart of a never quit, fearless young team was too much for the mighty Senators to handle. In the Eastern Conference final due to begin this coming Saturday, the Sabres are quite evenly matched with the Hurricanes. The good doc thinks which ever team can perform with better team work, rock solid goaltending, and mastery of the intangibles will win the series. I like the fearless young Sabres’ chances. May ‘the force’ be with them!!! Go Sabres!!!
