but I would still wonder what is driving younger women into the arms of older men at increasingly higher rates.
I don't see evidence if 'increasingly higher' rates. I just see a very large cohort (50+ men) chasing smaller cohorts.

Why are the youngest women (18-34) not pairing with men closer to their age to begin a family?
Women with older men is, of course, not a new thing. In addition, the age of marriage is getting older, data all around.

Are they having families with the older men, or not at all?
The 18-34 is a very large cohort so perhaps 30+ are closer to their age or >35.

I would still think social media is having a selection effect of some sort.
The problems with young men confusing Porn with Real Life is apparent.

Dating sites suggest that only a small percentage of men get all the likes and matches, according to a video I watched recently.
20% of men usually IIRC. In addition, with women being increasingly the majority in Universities and higher education, they are having problems finding compatible partners education-wise.

If nothing has changed (rates of young with old aren't higher, women always went for men outside their cohort) - why the change in sexual activity among younger men?

You can state that there are more 50+ year old men going after young women, but that doesn't explain why your typical 25-30yr old is dating them instead of a man 5-10 years her senior (as is more typical). Just because there are more older men after the limited younger women, that doesn't oblige the younger women to go with them. So why are they? The boomer cohort being larger than all other cohorts has been a thing for a while but the sex-less men are only showing up recently it seems.

I don't have all the answers by a long shot, this is just something I'm curious about, but I don't quite think cohort numbers tell the whole story. There are other explanations I find more compelling, like the financial aspect and selection aspect. Numbers may play a part, but if a 25 yo doesn't want to date a 50yo, I doubt it matters much how many 50somethings are after her.

If I had to guess, the older men own their home and are more financially stable.
it sucks being a younger guy these days. Less money, more debt, the chance of being able to live alone is getting slimmer.

Nah you are not missing anything. Dating app is a waste of resources.

Actually thats a very logical way to stamp it out, which had been their end game. But the police have far more serious concerns than dealing with two consenting adults paying for a service. They are far more concerned with the darker side of prostitution which doesn't involve consenting adults, which is abundant. Lots of info on the laws in the lounge.

Back to the OP, I lost my virginity in high school. Only discovered sex services in my mid 20's. Kinda wish I hadn't though.

Having a teenager in my house now, I can absolutely agree that times have changed. Social media and online gaming I would blame.

A Teacher friend of mine told me that many teenage boys are so into gaming that they are not interested in dating.

No (it actually was with a much older woman- different story). And I wouldn’t recommend your first time be with an sp, though I understand some guys might feel they have no other options.
