Was Bin Laden assassinated ? ( To murder a prominent person by surprise attack, as for political reasons.)

Of course he is dead ! If he is captured too many people are in on the cover-up for it to last. If he is free he just makes another video .

But were the orders to terminate with extreme prejudice ?

They shot his charging wife in the leg but had to put two kill shots into Bin Laden ?!?!

If you believe the order was to terminate any thoughts as to why the White House - or did the orders come from outside the White House ?! - insisted he be killed ?

Ask FUJI, he'll know for sure.

Let the wildly uninformed debate begin. Extra points to people who try to apply inappropriate contextual arguments, political screeds, and logical fallacies.

It has been reported that he called the navy seals politically uncorrect names. They hate that.

My own two cents is he was assassinated

If captured he is not talking unless tortured then he could still be lying

Hard to torture someone of such fame even if done behind closed doors

His followers will be taking hostages for trade or worse

Dispose of the body before the world realizes the SEALS actually put several kill shots into him and claim you are obeying Muslim creed for the first time in 10 years of war

Who gives a damn a) he was engaged in hostile action against the U.S. b) the action by the SEALS was in in accordance with U.S. law and the rules of war c) the rules of engagement provided that if he was actively surendering he would be taken prisoner.

The U.S. action was clearly illegal under international law as a violation of Pakistani sovereignty, a nation that the U.S. is not at war with.

The notion that it's in any way relevant whether or not it was in accordance "with U.S. law" is sheer arrogance and justifies claims that the U.S. behaves in an imperialistic fashion--only an imperialist would justify military actions in other nation's territory by reference to its own law.

I believe that P'stan public indignation is for local consumption. Secretly, they're glad the little prick is dead and glad they didn't have to do it and face the flack. Pakistan has killed more terrorist inside it's borders than any other country. They have to ride a tight rope between both factions.

Might have been nice to let the Pakistani president know what was going on then, and got his consent. That would have made it both legal and moral.

It would be legal and moral, but it would also force Pakistan to pick sides. Pakistan might not be able to pick sides.

It wasn't too long ago when the Taliban marched towards Islamabad to inform the government who was really in charge of the country. They almost made it. Its not obvious the Pakistan government would survive another civil conflict with the Taliban.

FUJI forgets the last time the higher ups in the P'stan government were told of the US's target and their secret plans, the target bolted. No wonder they weren't told of the plans this time.

Again FUJI arguing a moral question is a scream, but that won't stop him.

You've got the details wrong, but that's ok--you're usually ignorant. Keep on with that ignorance it's serving you well.
