Wal-Mart worker trampled to death by Black Friday mob

Fucking retarded behavior. You need to shop that bad that you kill someone. I think everyone in the mob should be charged, sentenced to a fine that is put in trust for the man's family.
As for Wal-mart - I don't know if they can or should be held responsible as well. They are a store and it could have been any store with a mob and the result could have been the same. However, so organization would have been good. Even though it may not have helped. It is like the release of PS3, XBOX, or even the cabbage patch kids, or tickle me elmos- all over again.
This Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie attitude is really starting to wear thin. People really need to be think about others alot more and maybe they will calm down abit.
Do you really need to shop on THAT day, or get THAT toy on the first day of its release. No one has patience anymore.

Nov. 28 (Bloomberg) -- A worker at a Wal-Mart in Long Island, New York, was killed when a throng of shoppers broke down the doors to the store early this morning and knocked him to the ground, according to local police and the company.
The event involved a temporary worker and was “a tragic situation,” Bentonville, Arkansas-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world’s biggest retailer, said in a statement. “The safety and security of our customers and associates is our top priority.”
At least four other shoppers were hurt in the melee at the Valley Stream store, about 13 miles (20 kilometers) east of New York City, Nassau County Police said in a statement. The injured include a 28-year-old pregnant woman who was taken to a nearby hospital for observation and three people who suffered minor wounds, police said.
The 34-year-old worker, who wasn’t identified by police, was knocked down by the crowd shortly after 5 a.m. local time and taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:03 a.m., the police statement said. The county medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
The man was working for a temporary agency on the company’s behalf, Wal-Mart said in the statement. He was trying to hold back the crowd of about 200 people when he was trampled, the New York Daily News reported, citing witnesses. Shoppers continued to file into the store as emergency workers tried to save the man, the newspaper said.

The store was later closed by police, the Daily News said.

You have to remember, this could have been any store. This has happened many many times before and not at Wal-mart's. Most of the blame has to be with mob of people.
Can Wal-mart hold some blame, yes. They could have had more security and created lines outside the store for people, but I have seen it where those are in place and people in a mob still trample and fight and run a muck.

I still think its the type of shoppers and Wal Mart having 1 guy at the door...and he wasn't even a full time employee (so he was untrained as well)..thats Wal Mart for you.

Again, it could have been any store. Wal-mart is big and popular, so that plays into part of it, but you have to remember the release of some products that I already listed. Go back and search the people that were injured and/or died at the release of the PS3. That was nuts too and it wasn't all Wal-mart then.
People in general need to smarten up!
