Google translate does a basic translation of common chinese (assume mandarin?), but you can get different results from other translation sites... still does not translate perfectly, but probably because some words just dont translate perfectly or there is no chinese/english equivalent (example, shouji literally translates to hand computer ... aka cell phone) .
