The whole notion of where will the money come from in light of the military budget is ridiculous. They could cut it by a third and still be the most powerful by far in the world.
Cutting the annual military budget by 1/3 would save about $210B per year.
Illegal immigration costs anywhere from $100-$200B per year
Medicare and Medicaid fraud and improper payments another $90-$120B per year
Social Security fraud and improper payments about $45B per year
Why don't you ever hear Sanders talk about the other 3 which would yield more combined savings than gutting the military? Now don't get me wrong I don't think it is sustainable for US taxpayers to be funding a $650B per year military. A military that benefits many other countries who at the same time shirk their military obligations. Our country being one of those.That is a conversation we all can have. But at the same time I thank the Lord every day that the US has the strongest military on Earth and not China or Russia.
Let me ask you this. Do you support Sanders positions on the following issues?
- large increases to the marginal tax rates on wealthy taxpayers and corporations
- implementing policies to fully de-carbonise the economy by 2050
- a national minimum wage of $15/hour
- major Wall Street and banking reforms
- capping CEO salaries at x amount of times the average employee of his/her company
- no restrictions on abortions
- single payer healthcare system
- open borders policy i.e. no one is illegal
- implementing hiring practices for government workers that make quotas based on race and gender mandatory
- eliminating the Electoral College system of voting and replacing it with another such as proportional representation
As far as I'm concerned many of those policy stances are of the lunatic fringe variety. I see nothing truly progressive about them.

The Twitter account that posted the original 1 minute video (from 2hours of footage) has been suspended. The account was supposedly from a California School teacher but in fact origionated from Brazil and is a troll farm averaging 130 tweets per day.

Everybody should step back for a moment and imagine what your reaction would be if the large group of students were Hispanic, or black, and the sole drum beater was an elderly white man who stepped between them and eg: 5 angry and loud Trump supporters wearing MAGA hats. Would you all be as hasty to excuse the students and blame the drum beater?

The man is supposed to be an intellectual, a philosopher and scholar, yet here he is on social media talking about punching a kid and then punching an adult who disagrees with him. This is the kind of guy, who in civil society, plays by the rules just enough. But if he were among his Muslim brethren in a nation under Sharia Law, you might lose your head, literally.

It either wouldn't have made the news, or the elderly white man would have been cast as a racist aggressor stirring up hatred among a group of innocent minority kids.
If the man was wearing a MAGA hat with 5 others that were loud Trump supporters beating a drum in front of minority school kids, they would be pilloried as racist scum.
