Iran Charges Female Director, Actor for Defying Hijab Mandate

Iranian authorities have filed court charges against two women, a filmmaker and an actor, for not wearing the mandatory headscarf.

Mizan news agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Republic's judiciary, reported that the Tehran prosecutor filed charges against a female director and an actor for appearing in public without observing the mandatory hijab.

While the agency did not name the individuals involved, it reported that "a female director and her daughter attended a film review meeting without wearing the hijab."

As a result, a judicial case has been opened against them in Tehran's General and Revolutionary Court.

It appears that the agency was referring to actor Baran Kosari and her mother, director Rakhshan Banietemad, who attended the review ceremony for the film "Someone is Always Lost" without the mandatory hijab.

Baran Kosari, one of the film's actors, was photographed at the event without her hijab alongside her mother.

These images, later shared on the Cinema Honar Instagram page, got attention from users.

This is stupid as I fully support the ICJ demand ...
What a crock. You keep defending Hamas rejecting their extremely clear demand to "Immediately and unconditionally" release their hostages and have repeatedly justified their use as bargaining chips.

Now Hamas is going far further than ignoring the ICC and ICJ and executing hostages but you don't give a shit.

You realize that the US 'plan' was Netanyahu's demand that there be a pause in the genocide so Hamas can return the hostages and then allow Netanyahu to get back to the killings.
...
And the excuses for Hamas continue.

Israel has already fucked up Hamas and other than Netanyahu trying to stay in power, Israelis overwhelmingly want the violence to stop.

You're still pushing your Jewish supremacism here, demanding that Israel be above the law and Hamas below.
You can't demand that Israel be above the law, basketcase.

The UNS demanded both sides ceasefire and release hostages.
The ICJ demanded action only from Israel.
The ICC will issue warrants on both Israel and Hamas.

1) Do you have a legit source?
2) Do you think this justifies genocide or the occupation?

Why won't you comment on this?

The ICJ demanded action only from Israel.
HRW made accusations against and demanded actions from only Hamas.

October 7 Crimes Against Humanity, War Crimes by Hamas-led Groups | Human Rights Watch (hrw.org)

  • Hamas-led armed groups committed numerous war crimes and crimes against humanity against civilians during the October 7 assault on southern Israel.
  • Palestinian fighters committed summary killings, hostage-taking and other war crimes, and the crimes against humanity of murder and wrongful imprisonment.
  • Governments with influence over the Palestinian armed groups should press for the urgent release of all civilian hostages.
(Jerusalem) – Hamas’ military wing – the Qassam Brigades – and at least four other Palestinian armed groups committed numerous war crimes and crimes against humanity against civilians during the October 7, 2023 assault on southern Israel, Human Rights Watch said in a report released today. Governments with influence over the armed groups should press for the urgent release of civilian hostages, an ongoing war crime, and for those responsible to be brought to justice.

You still don't understand how this works, Shazi?

HRW makes the reports then sends them to the UN, ICC and ICJ if they are serious.
The ICJ and ICC use them as evidence for their decisions.

So far the ICJ saw those reports and has issued Provisonal Measures on Israel only, not on Hamas.

Don't forget this HRW report.

I understand how you steadfastly refuse to accept the HRW report of July 27, which accuses only Hamas of committing crimes against humanity and which orders only Hamas of returning the hostages.

We all know how you work. You are willing to deny and argue against the groups you pretend to respect when they criticize Hamas, Iran, etc. and are willing to take any random bot's tweet as an excuse to demonize Jews.

You do know that you could stop the hostages being killed instantly if there was a ceasefire.
You'd rather all the hostages die than the genocide stop.

Idiotic.

You refuse to accept 62 UN resolutions, ICJ rulings, ICC warrants and hundreds and hundreds of reports from Amnesty, HRW, B'tselem and others.
Instead you hold up one report, which I say send to the ICC, as if that proves you back human rights.

Idiotic.

Every accusation is a confession.

You do know how many hundreds of reports you won't accept, don't you?

More terror apologia.

Hamas is executing hostages and you refuse to criticize them and instead claim you want a ceasefire.
Hamas is adding demands in ceasefire talks showing they aren't interested and you refuse to criticize them.
And just a reminder that the ICC and ICJ which you pretend to respect demanded Hamas immediately and without condition release their hostages almost a year ago but you support them keeping them.

But with your logic, Hamas could stop the violence immediately if they just give up. Israel is allegedly even offering Sinwar safe passage to wherever will accept him.

Again, you are the one who blindly accepts those groups as the moral authority when you like what they say. It's moronic to then turn around and deny their findings when you don't.

And I've been clear with my views; my acceptance depends on whether they are making conclusions based on enough access to information and not simply relying on statements from the other side. For example, Hamas' atrocities and sexual violence on the 7th have been documented by Hamas' own videos and statements as well as evidence from Israel so HRW's condemnation of Hamas has merit in my view. A statement that Israel is targeting civilians based solely on Hamas claims and the fact that civilians died is not a well researched opinion.

Israel killed more Israelis on Oct 7 than Hamas according to the latest reports.
Israel has killed more of the hostages than Hamas since.

The only times hostages were returned was because of a ceasefire.
If you want them back, stop the fucking genocide and back a ceasefire.
