NEW: CNN's Scott Jennings calls out the media for not holding Kamala & Walz to the same standard as Trump & Vance, rips Tim Walz for his "I'm too dumb to tell the truth" schtick. "I never hear the same concern about Harris & the lies that she tells,"
@ScottJenningsKY
said. "We spend 99% of our time going down rabbit holes about Vance and Trump and honesty and campaigns, and we spend no time, no time at all holding Walz and Harris to the same standard."

I think a lot of media was trying to make Vance seem like this diabolic right-wing extremist. His responses were more thoughtful and well-articulated than even I was expecting.

We have a problem in U.S. politics now and perhaps you will have it in Canada next year. It's not enough to challenge the ideas of someone you disagree with. You have to demonize and excoriate them. I do think Trump brings a lot of this on himself. Vance to me always seemed to be a decent guy with some interesting but perhaps raw viewpoints. I don't even agree with Vance on everything.
The trend over at least the last decade has been for liberals to demonize conservatives on a personal level even before getting to policies.
Arguing policies to most people doesn't stick as well as hitting some primal fears in them.

You'll notice the trends have ramped up:
Conservatives are fascists and will make the rich more wealthy; Liberals are Communists that will make you poor and control your freedom.

Policies and the finer details of those get lost somewhere when they take a back seat to demonization of an opponent or party.

In my opinion, the left has mastered these tactics much better over recent history including leveraging MSM to a bigger scale...but both sides do it.

.
@KamalaHarris
and
@Tim_Walz
are desperately trying to leave
@JoeBiden
in the past. Walz only mentioned the president’s name once last night and Joe's not happy. Biden is reportedly fuming in private about being left on the sidelines. Maybe he should stop worrying about getting credit for his presidency and start getting involved in it. The country is dealing with a natural disaster, a crippling labor strike, and an escalating war in the Middle East. We need leadership and we need it now.

We all know Biden and Harris are both bumbling, lazy, uncaring morons. The puppet masters behind them, however, are cunning, ruthless, and deadly. Never in my life could I have imagined that any government would let thousands of Americans die in a natural tragedy because of the way they vote. But now, as I watch the criminal malfeasance in NC under Biden/Harris, it has crossed my mind. It surely can’t be true, but their slovenly neglect is now bordering on willful political warfare.
