I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels a tad miffed that we as men have the majority of the onus on us to make this a special day for the woman in our lives, if we have one.. My biggest problem with it is that this is a manufactured celebration, only created as a marketing ploy.

DON'T get me wrong, I'm as romantic as they come, I just dislike being told when and how to express how I should act/feel... Acts of love, knowing your SO's love language, is far more important than one day of wasted money, on a fake pronouncement of love, imho...

It's a celebration in the middle of 'winter' (or at least what used to be Winter). Not that uncommon. Sure, it's a Hallmark holiday but so what. Take the chance to convince the wife that she's your one-and-only.

Yeah its the same as the Superbowl Sunday. Its just a marketing gimmick.

If you are single, book with a provider and enjoy yourself!

Well until we evolve enough that we can suck our own dicks, this is the way it is.

My favorite aspect of valentines day was always my wife's lingerie underwear collection when it went on clearance the day after. Thats was when they had the hottest stuff. But frdericks is gone, and VS has gotten a little tame.

Miserable Prick Jim Norton nailed Feb 14th best: Look after the one you love instead of paying child support to someone you can't stand.

Feb 14th should still be called Chaucer Day. After the Black Death, King Edward III commissioned Geoffrey Chaucer to write bawdy poems to get the surviving populace to start fucking. One of the most popular songs of the time was called: My Man's Dong is Long.

It was on YT, don't know what happened to it.

Earth
For.
It doesn't bother me that much, not like it did in the past.

Usually, I would prepare a booking with an Sp.
But this year, not this time.

Got too many responsibilities to take care of.
Long term they are more important.

If I spend money on anyone this Valentines, it will be myself.
Next year though....might be different Lol.

Single so I don't really care but I do prefer the Japanese iteration of it where it's two holidays. One where women give a gift and a week or two later the man reciprocates

There is the ancient Roman one tomorrow on the 15th where people run through the streets naked getting hit by whips.

But I recommend the "Book and Rose day" you get in Catalonia and some other places on April 23 -- Give a Book and a Rose to someone.

Doesn't have to be gender specific and also is just kind of classier.

I spent a few decades having to work it every year so thankfully was spared the whole having to take anyone out for it.

As a server its the second worst night to work in the industry. I always tell people to go out the day before and after to avoid the bullshit.

I will add it was always a reliable red flag for me or anyone not to date someone who freaks out over the day.

So what is the first , 3rd or top 5 nights not to work or attend on the service industry?
