You didn't address my point. I symapthise with your desire to address some other point, but nevertheless I shall guide you back.
Have people been prevented from speaking at universities for the above-mentioned reasons or not?
Since when are we talking about TERB?
Also please answer for your comment about bigotry - were you talking about me? If so, please provide specific evidence.
Why don’t I address your point? I did. I just didn’t play your game.
Asking someone a question you already know the answer to, presumably to go “see! I told you I was right!” is a tactic. Besides, I already said I believe in free speech. You building straw men to attack is really not worth perusing.
All that being said…. Yes. People have been cancelled from speaking at universities. And I don’t agree with it. Most liberals don’t agree with it.
Now, can you answer this for me… has an athlete ever been cancelled or ridiculed for what he protested? Has a professional sports league ever fired or banned a player for protesting? Have people boycotted products those athletes were sponsored by?
Also…. Can you show me any examples of yourself defending Capernik or James on this board for their right to free speech? I’ll wait.
And did I say you Specifically were a bigot? No. I don’t know you. I don’t presume to know you. However, based on the law of averages, there are some on the board.
My thoughts on bigotry…. It exists on both sides of the aisle, in different forms. One party seems to attract more of them. Many many more. Much louder and crazier ones. That does mean every person in that party is a bigot. Far from it. For political reasons, many stay silent and do not call out the bigotry. Some even go to great lengths to paint the bigotry in a different light. You could that in it if itself is a form of bigotry…. But in my view it’s not. I look for actual malice. Does McCarthy defend Trump because of malice, or is the motivation political posturing. 2 different things. Both bad.
