Basically the day after Israel was formed, the Arabs attacked it. They didn't negotiate. They openly attacked Israel. Israel defended itself and won: three times. This is the fourth time that Israel will defend itself.

Yes, the UN and UK formed Israel. I don't deny that. It was unfair to Palestine. I don't deny that either.

We occupied aboriginal lands in Canada and the US. Maybe we should give that land back like Israel should to the Palestinians. What do you say?
That's the Israeli side of the story, the Palestinian side notes that there were zionist calls for all of eretz Israel from 'river to sea' before partition, Jewish terrorist attack before partition and they say the zionists started it.

Regardless, Israel has wiped Palestine off the maps and is now trying to push Palestinians into the sea or into Egypt, or just wipe them out entirely.

Landback is a movement here, you should know and there are still multiple treaty negotiations ongoing. Its a process that is still seeking to redress past injustices. Israel needs a truth and reconciliation thing after they stop trying to kill everyone.

Even recent history is nuts.

According to some people here who have been defending Israel, Israel couldn't have existed yet because they didn't have a president and weren't printing their own currency. So Israel couldn't have been attacked because it didn't exist. That's also one of the arguments the Arab states used as their cause belli: they said Israel's declaration of Independence was unlawful and an act of war, and they were just putting down a rebellion. They wanted to end the idea of a Jewish state before it could start.

That's nonsense, of course. I don't believe that for a second, but it's worth pointing out the ridiculousness of that argument both when it's used to justify the First Arab-Israeli war and the current situation.

You should deny that. It's untrue and actually takes away from Israel's strength of will. Israel was formed by Israelis. They declared independence all on their own. The UK pledged to support an Israeli state, not create one, and the UN passed a resolution to partition Palestine and create the Israeli state, but that UN plan was never implemented. Israel unilaterally declared independence, no different than the USA did, nor any different from how Palestine did it.

All First Nations persons in Canada are entitled to both Canadian and First Nations citizenship. The majority of Palestinians (and other Arabs) who have Israeli citizenship are happy with their situation. The problem is that Israel won't give all Palestinians citizenship because they want to keep a Jewish majority. Incidentally, this limiting of "immigration" to preserve a majority was one of the very things that led Zionists before Israel's founding to engage in terrorism. Clearly Israel understands the position that Palestinians are in, because when faced with the same problem they also resorted to terrorism.

So yes, if Canada was going to term First Nations that they couldn't have Canadian citizenship, Canada should give land that's occupied illegally back. But then, we not only give First Nations citizenship, but we also have a law that requires us to return land when they prove their land claims in court. That system is far from perfect and largely broken for various reasons, but the citizenship part is the key that many these two situations different.
