Holm demonstrated amazing fight IQ. Honda tried several times to take Holly down and do her usual armbar work but simply could NOT. The sloppy brawler (Honda) was forced to stand and trade with an elite stand-up artist for the first time in her career.

I am just a casual UFC follower ( Huge when UFC 1 -10 ) and was following all the Rousy Hype ... Heck she won ESP's female athlete of the year ... Then woke up Sunday too see she lost and read about it .. She was just 12-0 going in the fight ... You would think with everything Ronda Rousey in mainstream media she would be more then 12-0 ... I am sorry for my ignorance but just thought with all that hype we would be talking about somebody who is more then 12-0 .. Heck her opponent was 9-0 ..
Ronda's value will hurt. Booksales and line ups won't be as long and there are a lot of little girls all over the U.S. with broken hearts BUT a new idol. lol
I agree with most who mention Ronda was exposed for not being well rounded....What could have been if Zingano did not rush into Ronda's game.
I thought Holly was just brilliant in keeping her cool setting up her shots..I think that elbow she threw broke Ronda's jaw in the first round..I have watched it a few times and her mouth did not look right after the elbow..Ronda's arrogance caught up to her.

Never been a fan of rousey, if nick diaz became a woman without the ugly mug, it would be rousey. She always has this permanent scowl on her face like the diaz brother have, and she talks huge amounts of trash just like the diaz brothers do. We will know rousey's true character when she gives her next interview, she could go nick diaz style and talk like she actually won the fight, or she could make up excuses, or she could man up and accept the loss without any excuses. I doubt it will be the later.

Just because Mike Tyson comes to watch a rehearsed workout doesn't make you great. Don't get me wrong, Rousey has great work ethics and is impressive to watch, as long as it is just that, choreography. Her being on the cover of Ring magazine was a business decision and ploy to steal her from Dana. Ring magazine is owned by Oscar De La Hoya, who is trying to recruit her to boxing, although probably not anymore. Her PR people are the real champions, booking her on several shows and selling the lies as facts.
Nothing Rousey displayed in that fight would warrant an immediate rematch. People say because of everything she has done, she should get one. NO, because of everything she has done, she is a millionaire. She has book deals, movie deals, magazine covers, and fame because of what she has done before the Holm fight. She has been exposed for what she is, a product of the media, and to say she deserves an immediate rematch is only an attempt to start the media hype all over, hoping she can catch Holm quickly the next time, and of course, catch her in an armbar.**
I hope the UFC shows Holms the respect she earned and deserves, and honours their twice now promise to Meisha Tate, giving Meisha the next shot at the title. What is the rush of an immediate rematch for Rhonda? If Rhonda really is as good as Dana pretends, why not let her fight someone else next?
