FROM A COMMENT TO A YAHOO ARTICLE:
Watch the Australian open workouts and you can see what is actually going on. Rhonda's workout with Edwin is a piece of choreography. Rehearsed, practiced and arranged to make her look much better than she is and to wow the crowd. At one point Rousey slips a few pretend shots from Edwin, dodges him, and throws him to the ground and struts towards the crowd without looking back, as if it really happened and was not a rehearsed move.**
The real skill was shown by Holm, when she actually slipped and dodged Rousey, and Rousey looked like a puppy with big feet, tripping over herself and embarrassingly tumbled into the cage. It was at the point, Rousey realized she was a fraud. Much like Rocky in the third movie, she was lied to. Told was she was the greatest thing ever, and believed it because she was up against unqualified fighters in the new world of women's MMA. However, unlike Rocky, she does not yet have the skills to be what she was made up to be.
Her judo background gave her a great advantage and made her opponents of a new category, woman's MMA, look bad. It's only been a few years since women have really started to take the sport by storm. Remember some of the mismatches we use to watch in the first few years of MMA with the men, and Gracie appeared to be a magician.**
Rousey displayed her actual cardio and skill against Holm. She was gassed at the half way point of the first round and she looked like it was her first time in an octagon. Rousey's mom could see the writing on the wall though. Being the professional she is, she knew the lies would catch up with her daughter. To hear your daughter walking around saying she could beat Mayweather, or even Holm, a multi-time decorated boxing champion, must have scared her. How could Rousey possibly be a good boxer with Edwin training her. Who has Edwin ever trained in boxing, hell even MMA for that matter, that had a successful career, .....no-one.
Rhonda Rousey is the product of hype from the media and Dana White to generate money and she played her role perfectly. Just because Mike Tyson comes to watch a rehearsed workout doesn't make you great. Don't get me wrong, Rousey has great work ethics and is impressive to watch, as long as it is just that, choreography. Her being on the cover of Ring magazine was a business decision and ploy to steal her from Dana. Ring magazine is owned by Oscar De La Hoya, who is trying to recruit her to boxing, although probably not anymore. Her PR people are the real champions, booking her on several shows and selling the lies as facts.
Nothing Rousey displayed in that fight would warrant an immediate rematch. People say because of everything she has done, she should get one. NO, because of everything she has done, she is a millionaire. She has book deals, movie deals, magazine covers, and fame because of what she has done before the Holm fight. She has been exposed for what she is, a product of the media, and to say she deserves an immediate rematch is only an attempt to start the media hype all over, hoping she can catch Holm quickly the next time, and of course, catch her in an armbar.**
I hope the UFC shows Holms the respect she earned and deserves, and honours their twice now promise to Meisha Tate, giving Meisha the next shot at the title. What is the rush of an immediate rematch for Rhonda? If Rhonda really is as good as Dana pretends, why not let her fight someone else next? Because, when Rhonda losses again the money train jumps the tracks and crashes forever.
I think it is refreshing for young girls and women to have a kind respectful Champion like Holm to look up to and emulate for once. If you still don't buy that Rousey has been carried along and is the product of the media. Rousey, a well trained athlete, has actually beaten a boyfriend up in the past, something that gets men kicked out of the UFC and destroys their reputation. Simply put, Rousey is not a nice person. She is a bully, liar, and a poor representative of the sport. She has a great armbar and is a hard working, dedicated young woman. I hope she can learn from this, change her ways, and become a better person. I however, can see who she really is, and will never respect her as a person and have no respect for her false game.
