Ronda's game plan was infective against the superior footwork and movement of holly.

My guess that she takes time off to reflect and changes her camp for the rematch. Have to think with her hectic schedule, doing movies, Mother dissing her coach publicly and her exposed relationship with accused wife beater Travis Browne. That she might she have had to much on her plate to mentally deal with Holm. Maybe that's why she imploded at the weigh-ins?

Bottom line is she got dominated and will have to reinvent her approach if she wants to beat holly in a rematch.

Cyborg vs Holm is one of the most intriguing possible bouts out there right now.

It was so sweet to see the former champ exposed and looking way over her head there. The way Holm ducked and moved away in one swift motion was killer. Like she saw the punch coming a week ago. :clap2::clap2::faint: Obviously all the drama in her life with the mother dissing her coach and media attenton got to her.

Exactly, The UFC just had a hype job that got exposed. I don't think Dana White and Joe Silva thought Rousey would lose to Holm, and it's clear that she was being protected from Cyborg. I wonder if Rousey's popularity will suffer but it's clear the UFC will need to market a new female superstar. Ronda became to self absorbed and bitchy, her insecurities are very evident.

Paige Vanzant will.be the new UFC darling.

Her striking coach did not prepare her for matching up against a better in shape and bigger experienced striker who has fluid movement.
If anybody deserved to be KOed, it was Honda.

There was another girl (Don't recall if an SP, MPA, etc ) but I remember her being a HUGE Rousey fan. I'm sure she liked, and felt Ronda was a good striker.

I'm 180 the other way. I think Ronda has fantastic BJJ and Judo, but absolutely NO striking.
I've wished for just one opponent to fight smart. Don't rush Ronda, use range, work angles, stuff any takedowns. If Rousey got ahold of you...GET THE HELL AWAY.

Both Zingano or Tate had the striking, but both wasted their opportunities by playing right into Rondas strengths.

Okay, maybe I did confuse you with that other girl now that I think about it. I think Zingano may be able to beat Rousey as well.

I agree with a couple things you mentioned. I too don't think White/Silva expected Holm to win. Truth be said, I honestly expected Rousey to win. I thought Ronda would eat some blows, but pin Holly to the fence, flip her, and end via arm bar.

What I didn't expect to see was a girl who looked drunk in a bar, who was chasing another girl in a jealous rage for looking at her man.

Dana White really bugged me in the post fight conference on two subjects.

1. When asked if Rousey had been 'exposed', White laughed it off saying something like "whenever a fighter has dominated for a long time and loses one, fans think the fighter has been exposed"
Well, if you look at some of the longest champs like Jon Jones (Lost belt for suspension) , GSP (stepped down) , Anderson Silva ( KO'ed by showboating, then lost to injury but remains lethal IMO)..

The point is, other long reigning champs are well rounded beasts who can bounce back. Ronda didn't lose a close war, she was schooled and looked quite honestly.. stupid. So yes, seeing as how Rousey cannot improve vastly in mere months with striking, think the book is out on her weakness.

2. The Re-match - White says a rematch makes sense, its what the fans want. Ummm, is he nuts? I liked the outcome, but that hardly was a fun fight and something I want to see again.
What fan wants to see that again, and why would Ronda even want a rematch right away? Her "I can't be beat just got replaced with ...am I really a 'Mixed' martial arts fighter, or a one trick pony?

White should prove Rousey isn't a fluke and has heart by putting her against Cyborg first. Either make her or break her in a comeback fight.
But who knows, like Gina Carano, Rousey will learn a nice payday from Hollywood beats kissing the canvas any day and call it a career.

Highly doubt Rousey will get Cyborg next, that's a risk of a loss, she needs a rebound.
Miesha Tate will probably get Holm next and Cyborg after that. Honda has no interest in fighting Cyborg as she keeps bringing up her doping that happened 3 years ago. Can Ronda Rousey match up against a stronger and more powerful striker than Holm, whose also the same height? Not sure if her chin can take it.
