A good card IMHO looking to see if Guillard has learned any submission defence (he will need it) against Camoes..I think McKenzie is in over his head against Mendes.
Should be a retirement fight for both Forrest and Ortiz, but I see Ortiz pulling this one out.
Looking forward to the Kim vs Maia...and praying Silva plays with Sonnen for 3 rounds by punishing him before submitting him again(same hold would be funny) and sending him to the WWE where he belongs

Looking forward to Silva Sonnen 2.

Silva got beat up pretty good in the 1st fight. I was impressed how well his stamina held up for 5 rounds.

Let's see if Sonnen can close the deal this time.

Both guys are seriously elite. Hope we get a classic bout.

It's a shame that this fight was not part of the Brazil card. Same with the injured Jose Aldo.

Silva's only weakness is being on his back. Put him on his back and keep him there and you win. I've watched all of his fights, and that is the only weakness to exploit. Sonnen did a good job the first time but didn't carry it through to the end.

Silva has had years to improve this area of his game, but it remains a weakness for him, so while he may try his best to avoid being taken down specifically for this fight, it may not work.

My money is still on Silva because his arsenal is diverse, dynamic, and his stamina almost unmatched. While Sonnen has to keep Silva down for 5 rounds, all it takes is one punch or one kick from Silva to finish a fight.

Spider has no weakness. Put him on his back and he'll triangle choke you. He is a bjj bb you know.
I have a feeling Anderson will hurt Chael bad this time around. Chael minus the roidz will have a tuff time against Spider. He basically lost the Bisping fight and could barley take Bisping down and do any damage, he looked very bad in that fight.

I'll say Spider by KO in the 3rd

Haha, you beat me to it! I was going to mention keep him on his back and off your neck.

Like Kathleen, I am hoping for an epic battle but I differ on what to expect (like many do) on the outcome (I hope you're right and Silva finally gets his 'come-uppins' and Chael gives him another beating but finish him like he should have the first time. Sadly I think Silva will win this in the 4RD Round via knockout.

Silva fought with an injured rib in the last fight...
And if you have seen Silva fight you know he didn't fight like he usually does....
You could see the rib injury played a factor in Silva's game plan...He got taken down way too easy...his movement was off....and when he was on the ground he didn't hip out or create space...
I really believe Sonnen got lucky in that fight cause of Silva's injury...

This next fight...if Silva is 100 percent he will smash Sonnen like he did Okami...
Though he may make Sonnen suffer and just take him apart slowly and painfully...

As for weaknesses....Spider's weakness is wrestling but his incredible balance, long limbs and brilliant movement usually negates the takedown (also his ability to move backwards and still hit effectively)...
And when he is taken down the Spider has a very active guard...Spider's long leg can body triangle his opponent even in his guard or keep his opponents at bay by hipping out and using his longs legs to create distance (something he wasn't able to do in last fight with Sonnen)...

Its not really a mistake by Silva's opponents....Its just that the Spider gives them no choice in the matter....he forces them into that position....

Fighters have tried the same game plan as Sonnen...
Try to withstand Silva's attack and counter quickly and effectively....

There's are two problems with that plan....

Silva is such an effective striker that when he hits he does such damage that most fighters are too hurt to fight back (Spider has hurt guys with just his jab)....

And second... if they are able to mount a counter attack Silva uses his movement to get out of any real danger (sometimes effectively countering with strikes as he moves backward)....

As I mentioned in my previous post....Silva wasn't able to do the second due to the rib injury....
A 100 percent Silva isn't gonna let Sonnen come close to what he did in the last fight...

On a side note id really like to see Chael vs Hendo go at it.
After Spider rearranges Chael's face on Sat hopefully these two will face off next.

Silva vs Sonnen....I ain't buying the injury excuse that the Silva camp likes to pull in reference to the last fight. Most of these guys are fighting with more than their share of injuries. And if it is that bad then pull out of the fight. Sonnen is a southpaw wrestler that comes straight ahead. This is Anderson's weakness as he doesn't fare to well backing up. The question is who has adapted to the others style since the last time they engaged. I'm hoping that Chael can duplicate his success he fond in the first encounter.

Griffin vs Ortiz.....Ortiz runs out of gas in the 3rd round and gets decisioned.

Le vs Cote.......Cote weathers an early storm and comes back KO the retiring Le.

Kim vs Maia...........Kim with a lot of ground and pound.

Mendes vs McKenzie......Cody is way in over his head in this one and it will show. Sometimes being nuts can be a bad thing.

Here's the rub though.

He is not minus the roids at all. He received his Testosterone usage exemption from the NSAC.

So he will be in the same hormonal state as the first fight.

That's really sad. He was suspended after the original fight for being 16 times over what a normal person tests at. Now he's allowed to fight so long as he's only 6 times over what a normal person tests at.
