Dude, give it up. The suspect was an idiot. If you do not put down the gun, the cops will kill you. They will not shoot the gun out of your hand. They will not put down their guns and approach you cause, guess what, it is just a job and they want to go home to their families at the end of the day.

As for a Service Dog, if killed, he's considered a Police Officer I believe and the suspect will be charged as though killing a human PO.

That was my point. Of course I would have a little more empathy for a dog over a car. I just made that up to stir up emotions. A tongue in cheek comment even more ridiculous that what others have expressed in this thread.

It just strikes me as amusing in North American pet loving society that many animal lovers get more upset over the unfortunate death of a dog than a human being. Who according to the side note beside that clip was an undercover police officer. Who may have been a loved husband with kids. Guess some of you couldn't read that due to tears in your eyes over the k-9.

This reminds me of that police horse that was hit by a car on duty last year here in Toronto. They had a virtual State funeral for an animal, remember? Hundred of people from cops to animal loving civilians attended this event. People weeping in the audience over the death of a horse.

If a homeless man/woman dies in the streets of our city what kind of send off do they get? Nothing near as extravagant as a Toronto police horse. To me thats all back wards.

that reminds me. in Barrie a bunch of cops got let go earlier this week for drinking during a drug pre-raid stakeout. apparenlty a rookie cop reported over the radio jokingly that he smelled alcohol amongst his peers and that triggered the supervisor's attention, he went down to the scene and ordered his entire team to get an immediate blood test. i guess they failed the test.
