Either make a new account if you're desperate for twitter or just migrate to Bluesky
WTF did you do to get cancelled? X is such a cesspool these days, but it's still used by a lot of "communities", ie. sports, politics, etc. I will say that it has a surprising content of self-generated hard core porn if you have any interest in that subject. Talk about doom scrolling...I get caught in an Asian loop sometimes and it's hard to escapte.
I had an account I made back in 2012 that I had forgot about. Never posted on it and only ever followed traffic updates. I stopped using after I stopped working Mississauga 9 years ago. I got an email notifying me my account was banned for "Violating our rules against inauthentic behaviors." Just for the hell of it I disputed the ban. Asked why I was banned for an account I had forgotten about and hadn't used in years, Got the account back.
That's where we all are!
Also Twitter is now only about ads and engagement-bait accounts that ask stupid questions because they make money of answers and everyone want to give their opinion on everything, but those answers are never read because the money has been made. It's so fake.
You can submit an appeal. It happened to me as well, it looks like it was a bot system just banning left and right without actual violations of the rules. The appeal took about 2 weeks but I have all my accounts back now.
Twitter is still useful. Clearly there's a lot of hate/vitriol and delusion, but sandwiched in between is some truth. You have to sift through the insanity but you can find analysis and intelligent opinions. I could be wrong but my impression of bluesky is that it's just an echo chamber for hate trumpers and left wing propagandists. Again it's just my impression.. I've never tried bluesky.
That's what I did when I got gonged from that cesspool site. My sin still makes me laugh - I was accused of promoting hatred for wishing a kidney stone on Trump. How is that promoting hatred?
I'd wear that like a badge of honour.
Also, bonus points to you for calling it "Twitter" and not "X".
Bluesky is a cesspool too, just from an ideologically Left perspective.
The problem with Twitter is that it's rife with bots and engagement bait. Both the bots and engagement bait are designed to rile up the human commenters (thus driving engagement), but it makes those human twits miserable people. It's full of men hate, women hate, employer hate, poor people hate, rich people hate...just hate of every kind. Even though there's some good discussions to be had there, the rest of it is exhausting.
