Anyway, I am off to enjoy my weekend and I will be back to lurking mode. I will unwatch this thread now and will not respond further.

LIAR! LIAR! LIAR! 😜

I dont see a point to saying the same thing over and over again. But one last response :ROFLMAO:.

The Answer is D). Ukraine would join NATO and completely delegitimize Russia, so that option is a non starter.

Who/what is kreal? I asked you earlier.

Or did the the third line Soldiers make you return to the Front Lines of TERB?!?! 😜

Yes of course Russia would never and has never attacked a NATO state. Whats new about it? Russia just did not want Ukraine to join NATO and have their hands tied.
Interesting, so Russia attacked not because NATO was a threat, but because a Ukraine that had backup couldn't be controlled as easily, and Russia didn't want to "have their hands tied" by a Ukraine able to defend itself.

Thats what am saying. You have narratives here that Putin is engaged in some imperialist venture. He has his. The actual reasons though are based on the geo political situation of the region.
Wait.
I thought you said we had to believe Putin when he said it was NATO.
Now you are saying you can't believe Putin and it is actually based on the geo-political situation of the region and therefore "it was all about NATO" is wrong.

Can you please pick one story and stick to it?

I agree.
If his fans would shut up about him being important and them finding "real news" and shit from him, no one would worry about it.
He's a dude who likes to get high and talk to people he finds interesting.
He can't tell someone who knows their shit from someone who doesn't and he really doesn't care about that - if they are interesting he talks to them.
He isn't a source of real information or news or insight or anything.
He's a dude who like to get high and talk to people he finds interesting.

Unfortunately, you have all kinds of fans of his who thinks they learn important shit and hidden truths and real news other people won't tell you and so on on his show, when its just people getting to shoot the shit for 3 hours.

If his fans stopped pretending he and his guests are saying important things (or being too stupid to not realize that there aren't important things being said there), no one would have a problem with Joe Rogan.
You should caveat every post you make About Joe Rogan by stating the fact that you've never actually watched an entire podcast.......Just sayin, lol.

I don't think it is nice to make fun of, shall I just say 'challenged' people. But when you start throwing the word fascist around, you become fair game.

Here is the textbook definition of fascism. And it is not "military expansionism". It is precisely what the unfortunate Russian people are suffering under, and will suffer for for the next generations as a result of Putin's vision of the Russki Mir.

"Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation and race"
I'm going to counter that the definiton of fascism is a highly contested and not easy to pin down.

That said, no serious definition is just "military expansionism", so you're completely right about that.

i'm kind of getting eye strain today and if it were anyone other than someone with a sincerely curious mind, I would not bother. But here is a bit of insight. I'm not saying rogan suffered from any adverse affects from his (effectively) self-prescribed "kitchen sink" cocktail. I'm just saying that it is unlikely he'd have been able to summon, confer, have meaningful consultation and then over-ride a few Doctors for some Rx's that no Physician in their right mind would EXPERIMENT with the cocktail he claims to have been treated with, in the timeframe he claims. I have incredible connections and have obtained (marginally qualifying treatments-at best) for family members and can pretty much get anything prescribed for myself... but these things take time. Even with personal phone numbers. And not when I've got brain fog etc.
I think we're just approaching what his situation was differently.

I completely agree that a single doctor isn't likely to do the whole cocktail and that getting your hands on everything takes time.
But while I am sure you have your contacts, I don't think you're a celebrity, and if you've hung out with them enough you would be amazed at what they can get.
A bunch of calls to a bunch of docs and I think it is totally plausible.

In the end, I don't really care very much.

Like you said, (and anyone with a brain will realize), unless he got really unlucky, he was gonna recover in a few days like most people did, so his cocktail was more or less useless.

I just think it is plausible he did get his hands on it and wasn't lying to his audience.

Sure. I've only ever made it through parts of some.
And he has never struck me as someone other than a guy who likes to talk to people he finds interesting.
The "he can't tell people who know their shit from people who don't'" is also based on watching him talk to people who are clearly full of shit and he doesn't seem to notice.

If you want to tell me he actually is doing something else in his show than talking to people he finds interesting, point me to an example, I'm happy to see that.

But I find his fans far more deluded about what he is doing than he appears to be.

I haven't read Mein Kampf or the collected speeches of Joe Stalin either. (Although Danmand actually posted Stalin's speeches on TERB at one point, perhaps because he thought there was a hidden audience here that would appreciate them).

Does that mean that I can't say Hitler was a bad man?

What I was getting at is that the nationalistic rhetoric and hyperbole used internally in Russia dont matter the same way the fantasy stories you make up in your head dont matter.

A threat is something that is always before the fact, not after. In the case of Ukraine, they are a threat because of their ability to challenge Russian ability to project power in the region. This is something all countries do, the US doing it via NATO in Europe far beyond its borders. Its a legitimate fear for the Russians.
