Trump is running for the president of the USA. Why should Trump be forced to stay in court for 6-8 weeks in a sham case, when he should be out campaigning!! Also Judge Merchan, should have recused himself from this case, as his daughter Loren is making millions of dollars for working for the democrats like Camilla Harris, Adam Schiff etc Judge Merchan is turning into another Judge Engoron.....LMAO
Is it a sham case? I mean, he did try to hide a payment to a porn star and falsified business records to do so. As much as right-wing echo chamber and fever swamp want to pretend, Merchan, just like Engoron, will be impartial. They will look at the evidence and make fair rulings according to the law. Trump doesn't like that. That's why he is trying to discredit them. Merchan will be vilified by MAGA, and Trump will be able to say he is being railroaded when he is convicted. The reality here is much like his claims about the "stolen" election, just more Trump bullshit. The man has spent his life fucking around, and now he is finding out.
As for why he should be in court: I explained it. He is a criminal defendant. If any other defendant tried to skip court, they would be arrested. The law does not give a fuck if he was running for the Tooth Fairy. You can pretend all you want that it isn't fair. Trump feels that way, because for the first time he is being held accountable for his misdeeds instead of some lacky like Michael Cohen taking the rap.
Can't say I'm surprised you would say that. I mean, anyone who spreads Trump BS is a good journalist in your books....even if they're full of shit most of the time....
How could this trial do anything but help Trump? To anyone not trying to turn their brain into a pretzel, this is no more than an attempt to regurgitate the Stormy Daniels story back into the public eye for election purposes.
But the majority of Americans just don't care what went on between a billionaire and a porn star. It just just doesn't matter to their lives. Inflation matters. Uncontrolled entry to the country matters. Crime in their own neighborhood matters. American involvement in foreign wars matters. Until the Dems try to make the case that Trump is bad for the country on these fronts, they are wasting their time. In fact, attempting to distract the public with salacious (if regurgitated) stories tends to imply that the Dems don't have a case against Trump on the issues that really matter. Thus, these cases just firm up the independent vote in favor of Trump.
