No offense, I have been reading this same exact post for two years now. I think there is this perverse almost homicidal determination to want to encourage the Ukrainians to keep fighting without a clear end in sight.
This may sound perverse but if you were in the shoes of some
of the leaders on the side of Ukraine you too might decide that
encouraging and/or aiding the Ukrainians to keep fighting
was the right the thing to do for the moment.
Trudeau has squandered billions of us taxpayers' money to
fuel the Ukraine-Russia conflict. What is the price of it for him
(and him only)? Europe has praised Canada's contribution to
financing the war; Zelensky has also expressed his gratitude
to Canada. Most importantly Trudeau's virtue-signalling has won
admiration from his sheeple supporters at no cost to him.
Political leaders outside the west are more thoughful and cautious
with spending money to fuel a regional conflict thousands of miles away.
To be sure Putin's invasion was seen to be an act of aggression by
world's citizens outside the collective west from many of whom Zelensky
has won their sympathy and admiration. But most leaders of the world
are wise enough to not exploit the Ukraine war for political gains at the
expense of their citizens.
If the Ukraine war drags on some of the European leaders will have to
pay the price of getting voted out by voters getting tired of financing
the war at their expense. Hopefully the war will be ended soon when
all military aid to Ukraine is eventually withdrawn.
