Being a nerd for facts, when they show the videos of what Trump says which is often provable lies and lies after lies, which can be facted checked I don't see how that is bias.
You are talking to the sorts of people who label any criticism of their cult leader as derangement syndrome, as Trump living in their head rent free and or crying over the election [which is a lot better than trying to overturn election results and staging a coup].

It is pointless even trying to discuss anything with them. I strongly dislike the left on many grounds [but apparently am a libtard somehow] but the Trumptards are completely next level in living in a world of pure imagination.

Imagine now the price of food in the US! The import a lot from mexico. Add the fact that 50% of construction workers and 50% of farm crop picker are undocumented. If he deports them it will have a huge impact on price in the US.

Those 2 measures are important for maga wingnut because they lack the intelligence to truly understand them.

We won't go broke.
The American consumers who will be paying for it, will.
The thing is, We buy more from the US than the US buys from us... Canada has better negotiating power to keep Trump from implementing the Tariffs...if the Keystone is revived...we might be seeing 5% to 10%...or we'll see how Peepee executes... Mexico is fucked but that's because they fuck up with the border crisis...China's economy relies heavily on US and Canada...Nike and most clothing brands will get hit with those tariffs... IMO Canada will be fine...

Wish there was a way to ensure the US gets none of Canada's fresh water. Let them choke on their own drought if this is how it's going to be.

It will be fun to see PP squirm when Trump shafts Canada, but sad for rest of us who have to cope with the Canadian automotive industry's collapse and the ensuing economic pain. Maybe even a 20% tariff on Alberta oil heading south. All you Canadian Trump cheerleaders will be realizing a rather mixed blessing and it won't be due to being "great again"
you are really messed up to think it will be fun if Canada gets the shaft, because you want to see our next PM fail.

As much as I dislike Trudeau. the last thing I wanted to see was him fail
So you should be able to understand how painful it has been to see him constantly fail

in addition to your really messed up views you have a poor understanding of the economic threat

the Canadian automotive industry's collapse
Trump can not slap tariffs on the auto industry due to the supply chain interconnections
His proposed corporate tax cuts are a much bigger threat as the auto sector will shift more production to the US over time if Canada does not lower its corporate taxation.

Maybe even a 20% tariff on Alberta oil heading south.
Trumps plan is to lower the cost of energy to offset the costs to the US economy of the tariffs
He will likely pave the way for increased oil imports from Canada while reducing reliance on imports form the middle east
This would make sense to him in so many ways.

Trudeau has pushed US capital away from our energy sector. Money steers clear of stupid
Trudeaus decimation in the upcoming election will signal stupid is over and capital will return

Canada has trade risk heading our way, but not in the energy sector
our education system really failed you

Pierre P will have a challenge dealing with Trump, no question
Changes to Canadas boarder security and immigration and regulatory burden will ensure a far better relationship
Trump hates and despises Justin Trudeau
Canada will get steamrolled out of vindictive spite if Trudeau is not gone and soon.
Trump will respect Pierre P ( as much as he can respect a non-American)

Rather than hate Trump and discredit his power, be concerned for your fellow Canadians. The guy can cripple any country he wants.

Scotiabank Analysis: In April, Scotiabank projected that a minimum 10% tariff, along with other economic policies, could reduce Canada’s GDP by 3.6% at its peak, increase inflation by 1.7 percentage points, and raise interest rates by 190 basis points.

TD Economics Report: TD Economics assessed the impact of a 10% across-the-board tariff on Canadian goods and services exports. Their findings indicated that such tariffs would significantly harm Canada’s economy, especially if Canada retaliated with similar measures.
Crippling countries is not as simple as you think it is.
Yes retaliatory tariffs will make things expensive for us.
Tariffs are not supposed to be used for a trade war.
Tariffs are to protect domestic industry.
Not to try and arm twist countries into doing your bidding.
Those are called sanctions.
Trump is simply using the word "tariffs" for rhetorical purposes.

I think so too.
Mexico could be impacted. Particularly automotive.
But the US also exports significant amounts to Mexico, so it remains to be seen what that trade war will look like.
Tariffs on China will impact US consumers big time.
It is not simple to switch supply chains and again it matters what % tariff he levies.
China's operational costs are so low, that even the suggested blanket 60% tariff will do nothing to persuade domestic industry to switch supply chains or "make in America".

Mexico relies heavily on the US so they don't really have any bargaining power...IMO they will most likely just kiss Trumps ass for 4 years and try to appease him, implement stricter border rules and call it a day (until further notice or until Trump is done) China relies on their cheaper products going into the US, products that US already have but at a higher price...China can't afford to pass on to the consumer if tariff happens...they no longer had the competitive edge, because let's face it...they really do make inferior product with only the lower price as their main selling point.

Wasn't there the renegotiated NAFTA (by Trump) for which these new proposed tariffs would violate?

if that happened next thing would be a friendly visit of US Army and a nice neighbourly liberation of Canada from woke dictatorship. I am surprised it didn't happen before 2020 election anyway.

that is all semantics
denial of the actual risks and opportunities

Not to try and arm twist countries into doing your bidding.
We have a free trade deal, but do not actually practise free trade
We do not even have inter-provincial free trade
Canada supply management policies are protectionist and will be attacked
taxes on US social media companies are idealist in origin and will not survive

we have a massive opportunity to provide access to energy and natural resources to the US
there will be reshoring of manufacturing and we can capture some of that if we use the energy and natural resources as a barging chip.
we need to get our house in order quickly .. bye bye Justin

denying the US access to Canadian Fresh water is a strange idea
They can pump all the water out of the great lakes they need and there is not a damn thing we could do about it

mexico produce cars and load of auto parts essentials to US production.

They also produce a lot of food. The US cannot meet food production need without mexico.

this whole idea of tariffs is just another scare tactic of trump but it won't be roled out.
