So the actual raid was over presidential documents not turned over to the archives. With a small portion of them classified. It now appears that the classified ones may in fact have been de-classified but the paper work not properly done.

Beyond that anything else taken can be used in other investigations. So you never know what was found.

All this being said two things stand out to me. He won't go to jail over the first part anymore than Hillary Clinton did over Classified documents found on her private email server. The politicians have built the laws to prevent themselves from going to jail. And the bar is really high to prove intent.

So really in a way it will come down to if they found anything else. If they did it can be used.

But if they didn't the just handed him the nomination and possibly 2024. Americans are funny about govt overreach. This could swing a lot of voters.
For the FBI to raid Trump's residence must have been due to all the boxes being checked off prior to the raid.

This is far more serious than Clinton's email server. Remember that Hillary was still in office then and the verdict was "no persuasive evidence of systemic, deliberate mishandling of classified information". There is full evidence of "deliberate handling" of classified information here as it was moved out of the Whitehouse. Yes, 15 boxes of the actual Whitehouse Documents. They were hard copies and so will be considered as "fully intentional"!!

Sure, JC. In Russia, you don't get the Feds politely searching your safe under a legally signed warrant and then making the warrant available for legal challenge.

In Russia, you just fall out a 10th storey window. But please keep trying.
ROTFLMFAO!!!! How do you know it was a "legal" warrant? Especially since it's Epstein's former lawyer. Besides, the FBI doctored submission to the FISA Court in order to keep investigating Trump.

The question is a matter of intent yes. Was it Trump or an assistant who packed them? And if its material he declassified, then there is no "crime". Just procedural issues.

As I said its a high bar. And whether electronic or hard copy makes no difference.

Here's my hypothesis:

The Big Bopper killed both Buddy Holly and Richie Valens by purposefully crashing that plane because he was jealous of their fame. He would parachute out of the plane before it crashed, not to be seen until 13 years later.

The Big Bopper would then proceed to lose a lot of weight until 1972, when he highjacked an airplane, stole all the money on board and parachuted out of that plane, never to be seen again. Just before that, he changed his name to David "BigBopper" Cooper; DB Cooper for short......

Finally, DB Cooper would then proceed to Michigan, where he would kill Jimmy Hoffa and bury him in a huge jar of Skippy peanut butter that was eventually eaten by Hillary Clinton (in a pizza parlour, no less); that's why she got so big so quickly.....

Prove me wrong.....

The documents are almost beside the point. After all they were in his possession, going nowhere and under no threat. What is the problem is the AG sending the goon squad to go after the former, current and future political opponent. That's third world garbage- something Putin would do, actually.
So you think that the FBI going to retrieve and return the documents Trump shouldn't have is a bad thing? Wow. talk about political spin in the place of rationality.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. A Clinton admin official from the 1990's destroyed government documents and got a $50,000 fine. Sounds good to me. Maybe Donny will get a $50,000 fine as well.

What's your point?

Is the US a country of laws or not. According to the GOP laws only apply to Dems.

Is anyone above the law in the US. According to the GOP former GOP POTUS's and congresspeople are.

By the way the head of the FBI was appointed by the chosen one.

A couple of things.

First: Why are any of you calling this a raid and acting like you know how it went down?
The person who told you this happened is Donald Trump and he is a compulsive bullshitter.
Why would you believe anything about what happened here based on Donald Trump's say so?

There does seem to be confirmation that the FBI executed a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago.
As far as I can tell, nothing else about it has been confirmed.
For all we know it was some guys who knocked politely on the door and grabbed some documents after carefully using a team to make sure they only got the things in the warrant.

"a siege", "a raid", "they broke into my safe" -- why would you believe any of that at this point?

Second:

So the actual raid was over presidential documents not turned over to the archives. With a small portion of them classified. It now appears that the classified ones may in fact have been de-classified but the paper work not properly done.
Who told you this and why do you believe it?
That's a quote from Butler but this applies to all of you.
Is it plausible that this is about the documents and his conflict with the National Archives? Absolutely.
Do we actually know that? No.
The FBI hasn't said anything about it. They didn't do a press conference unless I missed it.
Trump or his people have the warrant and could release it or the receipt about what was taken if they have it.

No one has done that.

Why would you trust the hot takes from the MSM at this point? It's gonna be a hot mess of speculation.
People are throwing these things out to craft a narrative about what happened.

Even if you think it is about the National Archive documents, why would you think you know what those documents are like? Why they are classified or not and at what level. How many there are or how many they were looking for them?

We don't actually know this is about the documents.
We don't know anything of substance about this whole incident.

All we know is that there does appear to have been a warrant served on the house, and that Trump wasn't there but he wanted to publicize it and yell about it.
Everything else is hot takes, speculation, and bullshit talking points right now.
