If what Briffault says is true, then why hasnt Trump been charged with bribery yet??

I'll make you a bet, Trump will never get charged with bribery. Will you take the bet??
I agree, he won't be charged. Not because he isn't breaking the law, but more because the USSC basically said he couldn't be charged for nearly all official acts as President. Remember that? So, the only check to this is the Congress and the Senate....which the GOP runs. Will they show any back bone and stand up to this? It is surely doubtful.

But anyone who can say with a straight face that this isn't corrupt is either willfully blind, mentally challenged, or lying.

Do you even read context or do you just read headlines? The plane is to be given to the department of defence/US air force which means the US taxpayer is getting a "free" plane. Not sure why your making up some weird narrative like hes going put the plane under his personal name to use it for hooker and blow parties. The guy doesn't even take his presidential salary. Also, what does a 400m plane even compare to a 200 billion dollar return for the US ?

People lying about whats happening here are scraping at the bottom of the barrel trying to find dirt on the guy. Stop being the progenitor of polarization.
You are so blind.

First, there is nothing free. The jet would require millions, if not hundreds of millions of dollars to make it appropriate for the President. That includes new avionics, top secret and secure communications gear, systems that are EMP shielded, and have counter-measures for missiles and what not. Plus, they would need to ensure there were no listening devices, which means they would need to gut the interior. So, while it might be parked in Texas right now, it would not be in service for at least a year, if not longer. And, Trump keeps saying it would revert to his Presidential Library when he is done his term.

Also, he gives up his $400K salary, but charges taxpayers more than $30M for his golf trips, and charges the secret service a premium fee to stay at his hotels/resorts.

And, saying that this is a drop in the bucket compared to the supposed deals he's making doesn't matter. It is a perceived influence on Trump. Are we going to see him say no to Qatar if they step out of line? Or are found to continue funding terrorists?

Why do the GOP need to "stand up" for this? Is this a bad thing? If Congress passes this because the GOP is the majority, then there won't be a problem like they received the Statue of Liberty then?

Of course nothing is free...but this is part of making deals. What has Joe Biden done? You have no problem Hunter selling paintings and Joe receiving "gifts"?

Why?

Because you, they worship their orange rapist leader. Like you, they think trolling the libs is worth backing destroying democracy and installing corruption and fascism.
Because you get to troll the libs.

Isn't this all you hoped it would be?

If Trump is so corrupt, then why isnt he also taking his yearly $500K POTUS salary, instead of leaving it on the table??

I know it's not reported as widely, but..

He's also making money hand over fist with his crypto coin.
Plus he charges the government top rates and stays at his own properties.
Plus, he took a salary for a few years in his first term, despite him saying he would not.
Off the top of my head.

I guess you're answering your own question....they probably won't stand up to Trump. There is a massive difference between a statue and a nearly half billion dollar passenger jet that Trump will eventually want for his own private use. The statue did not benefit the sitting president in any way. AND, it was with no strings attached. I don't think anyone can reasonably say that Qatar wouldn't expect something from the US after this "gift..."

And, considering the shit storm the right made about Hunter Biden and Joe profiting from office....it is not surprising they are mostly silent or defending this...

Who said that? I don't like the idea of the president's family profiting from their clout or fame. I mean, do you remember Jimmy Carter's brother and his Billy Beer??? I also don't recall you being upset about Kushner getting billions from the Saudi's to launch his hedge fund...And, let's say that not all things are equal here. On the Trump side, billions in kick backs and other schemes, while Hunter Biden made a few million. And the GOP inquiry into Biden for impeachment couldn't even get enough evidence to try to nail him...

I would ask you....How much do you think Trump has made from charging the Secrete Service for staying at his resorts? They aren't getting a break on the room rate. That's costing tax payers millions. This is something no president has done before, where they can profit by travelling to their "home." And, he goes to play golf nearly EVERY weekend, which again, is something no president has done before.

With all due respect i think leveraging the presidency to put money in your pocket and your family's pocket is explicitly prohibited in the us constitution. Doing it in the open does NOT change its legal status.

The tariffs are only now starting to show. The Economist magazine argued the US economy was the envy of the world when Trump took over.
Since then it has declined on many metrics. All self-inflicted. Trumps recklessness caused a run on the bond market which can only be interpreted as big investors losing confidence in the USA as a safe place for their money. He had to pause his tariffs to stop a crash. Tariffs will register shortly as the supply chain begins to reflect its effects.

But anyone can make predictions. I'm willing to wait to see what happens. But as you might imagine, I'm not optimistic.
