I mean....technically, I don't think you can say OJ is a murderer. He was acquitted of the charges. And, while a civil jury found him culpable for their deaths, I still don't know if you can say he's a murderer. The burden of proof is so much lower in a civil case. Same for Trump. While I think most of us agree that he probably sexually assaulted a number of women, I don't think it is technically correct to call him a rapist. But, I'm no legal expert. Could he sue you for defamation for calling him a rapist? I feel that is unlikely...

Of course you can.
You as a member of society are not bound by the same rules as the government.

In the case of Trump, he sued for defamation because Carrol kept calling him a rapist.
He lost. A judge ruled that in the non-legal, normal use of the word, she had every right to do so based on the outcome of the civil trial.
