You are the one that got suckered into it!! If you ask me a question like where do I get my news from and I say from the TV. Would you be okay with that?? What is the difference, between stating the Youtube and the TV in this respect??

Cannot wait for your response!!
First of all boober never said he ONLY got his news from youtube.
Second of all you are arguing youtube is not a news source when it most definitely is.
Just some examples:

CNN: https://www.youtube.com/user/CNN
MSNBC: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaXkIU1QidjPwiAYu6GcHjg
ABC: https://www.youtube.com/user/ABCNews
CBS: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8p1vwvWtl6T73JiExfWs1g
FOX: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXIJgqnII2ZOINSWNOGFThA

Notice how they all have a verified checkmark thingie.
That means its their official YT channel, meaning its where you can get their official source of news.

Now lets see how you try to bullshit your way out of this one

See how you were suckered into it. This was my pure and simple question to Boobs:

So, you get ALL your "News" from Youtube??

I think it's funny that you and Frankfooter have no clue that Youtube hosts channels for most of the world's media outlets.

The part that's funny is that you ridicule without first checking...hahaha!

You and your multi-handle friend Frankfooter really do enjoy falling on your faces on a daily basis don't you?

Hahaha this is too funny!
So did his response make any sense?? I wanted to know whether he only gets his news from Youtube?? Again, just like Youtube, the TV is just a platform and not an official news source!!

Yes you can get numerous real media but unlike the TV, it is also a platform that anyone can upload those videos of Fake News!! So the only "bullshit" is from you who totally misunderstood what I was asking boobs!! Frankfooter is right that boobs is very poor at mathematics and his comprehension or miscomprehension as to what is being discussed. But then you are hardly any different from him!!

Once again if I am asked who is the source of the news, then is the response okay to you if I say The TV??

Yes, they re-broadcast other legit news sources.
Youtube doesn't produce any news on their own.
They are not a 'source'.

End of story.
Precisely, and he cannot understand that they are just a platform, and not an actual source. But Nasty has to throw his two cents in the mix, and he grasps the wrong end as usual!!

I give your attempt to bullshit your way out of this one a 0/10.

Major news sources are: TV, websites, newspapers, radio, youtube channels....etc.

When CNN has their own youtube channel that can be viewed as a source where you get their news from

After Google, more people search on YouTube than on any other site. It is the most popular platform among teenagers, according to a 2018 study by the Pew Research Center, beating out giants like Facebook and Instagram. With billions of views a day, the video site helps spur global cultural sensations, spawn careers, sell brands and promote political agendas.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/08/11/technology/youtube-fake-view-sellers.html

In other words Youtube is just a platform for Real or Fake Sources. Newspapers are sources because they are very specific for a particular news media like the Star or Sun etc. Show me a newspaper edition that has a platform for multiple sources like Star or Sun??

Watching news organizations that post on youtube is different from some random person posting on youtube. Is that too hard to understand? If CNN or Fox have a youtube channel the CNN or Fox are the source. That's not what you've been posting though.

And I prefer text. I can read through text based news far faster than watching a video that may or may not say something like you claimed.

p.s. Still waiting for you to give sources where the Japanese government condemned the WHO.

Youtube is a platform. Individuals and organizations can post content to their respective channels. i.e. I can't post content on CNN's channel, only CNN can do that. So I'm not sure what point you are trying to make when you say that's not what I've been posting.

News outlets have their own channels. That is a source for their news.

So not sure why there is confusion as to why Youtube wouldn't be a source for news when it's obvious news outlets use their respective channels on the Youtube platform as one of the mediums to share information.

You prefer text? Good for you. That is your preference and it has nothing to do with people here disputing that Youtube is a news source.

re Japan condemning the WHO...are you that lazy that you can't do a simple search and find the info yourself?

Jeezuz...here's one of many that comes up...

"Referring to the WHO leadership as China-centric, the Japanese senior official emphasized that the international health body's refusal to acknowledge Taiwan and its pandemic prevention efforts have resulted in more lives lost than there should have been. He added that the WHO has put the CCP's political interests ahead of global health, instead of sharing useful information provided by Taiwan."

Is your point that teenagers can't use Youtube as a news source? Or is that another one of your distracting arguments that has nothing to do with anything?

Are you saying that any news outlet that has a Youtube channel is posting fake news there?
Using your example, you do know that the Toronto Star has a Youtube news channel right? Not specific enough for you?

Are you stupid?

Referring to Youtube as a news source means that Youtube contains channels used by news outlets. Youtube is the platform. You want me to list each and every news outlet's channel so that you understand what is meant by "Youtube is a news source"?

WHen someone says they saw a news story on TV, do you ridicule them for not saying they saw a news story on TV on channel 5? OMFG

Obviously you have to get onto Youtube before you can access those channels, duh?

I think it's hilarious that you didn't know that reputable news outlets have news channels on Youtube and were quick to ridicule me about it. Now you're backpeddling and picking at straws to try and save face.

You have failed.

...and fallen on your face again! haha

This is by far your dumbest argument yet, and its completely irrelevant.

What does Gallup have to say on all this, beaver???

https://news.gallup.com/poll/163412/americans-main-source-news.aspx

TV Is Americans' Main Source of News. Preferred news source varies by age, education, and politics, among other factors

Television is the main place Americans say they turn to for news about current events (55%), leading the Internet, at 21%. Nine percent say newspapers or other print publications are their main news source, followed by radio, at 6%

Actually it is a news source for this reason. Many individuals do post footage of events to it. And in fact many news organizations have picked up these videos and stories from there.

The semantics argument is nice and all. But these days many news orgs also ask for video of events from the public. And use the footage. Are they now just a "platform" as well? And honestly the opinion of what exactly is a reliable source is up for debate. The legacy news has chosen to run stories first and then verify in the race to be first. It no longer fact checks it's stories before but corrects after.

And it takes footage from all sources, not just it's own employees. And has and will run them as fact. Even selectively editted ones.

Applying an outdated definition in the information age to "news sources" is ridiculous. A live stream of an event on a platform is news. So is a posted video.

The legacy news is just as likely to edit and add editorial these days, making it more opinion than fact.

Does youtube create news shows?

When youtube posted that news story about some blue board member, boober69, and his predilection for hamsters and duct tape, can you sue youtube as the news source?
Who would you sue?

Insults are against board rules, boob.
Do you follow board rules or not?
It's not an insult. It's a question.

Coming from someone who's had a hard lesson in what happens when you break the rules, you should know the difference.

Youtube is a platform. Referring to "Youtube" as a news source is similar to referring to "Television" as a news source.

That only took about 4 pages to get you to admit.
Youtube is not a news source.
Are you serious? You distracted for 4 pages saying Youtube is not a news source based on the fact that I didn't state the obvious? ie Youtube has news source channels?

OMFG

It wouldn't take so long if you only admitted it earlier.
