Well 21, you've allowed 3 pages of conjecture. Time to hear your mystery answer. We're all just "dying" to know.
but only about 13 replies out of almost 450 views were terbites that actually took a stab at the question... i was intending on letting it go until someone got it right... and it happened, though i was getting doubtful if today.

If Artyukhin is so fast, why does he only play 4 mins a game? My money would be on Martin St. Louis in a race.

I think Chara has an award for Artyukhin for his hit from behind into the boards on Patrick Eaves last week that cut him 15 for stitches. Amazingly, no penalty was called.

21pro YOU ARE WRONG.
I said earlier that your question was flawed. You said 260 pounds. He is listed at 254 lbs on the Lightnings web-site.
The fastest 260 + lbs man in the league is Chara as he is the only one listed on any roster as being 260+ :p

Hey A-ROD: you are partially wrong as well. Derek Booqaard of the
Minnesota Wild is listed as 270lbs. He being the heaviest in the league.
Now the fastest? is another question..

You did not do your research properly.
Why do you thank the guy? He was saying that Derek Booqaard is listed at 250lb.

I was thanking revolver for proving my point. Only one player in the NHL listed over 260.

I was then picking on 21pro, telling him to research before trivia is always good.

my dearest critic a-rod,

250, 260, 255, 262- are all very close weights. when you weigh that much, your weight will fluctuate 5-10lbs. throughout the day. (if i was Dimitri, i'd probably say- ask your wife..) but i won't; your criticism is welcomed and i'll do my best to respond to it; not go into hiding as so many other terbites do when being challenged. now- back to weight fluctuation... as a matter of fact, many heavyweight hockey players claim to lose up to 20 lbs. in one single game.

also, the nhl website is full of statistical flaws. it is not the nhl that goes and weighs in each and every player on each and every game night. as a matter of fact, you'll see the same weight posted for Evgeny at the beginning of the season, as now, and at the end of the season. nhl doesn't update those stats. nor, are they correct stats on nhl.com. so, yes i am flawed to what nhl.com says, but to what weight was reported out of the tampa bay's training room was over 260lbs fresh off the scale.

and yes, he did beat, Mr. St. Louis as well as all others in their preseason skating competition.

don't forget, speed does not equal superstar capability. Nathan Perrrot is Toronto's fastest skater- many would argue, but, ask any leaf.

If you were so aware of weight fluctuations then you might have given a range of weights (260, give or take 10 pounds) instead of a straight 260. If you said 260, I don't think I would expect people to start looking up skaters who are less than that. If he's listed at 250 in the guide, why wouldn't you just say 250 because obviously people are going to look in the guides to find the answer? Is there something more reliable to refer to?

It was a somewhat interesting question, unfortunately the way you worded it made it very flawed. That's the sole reason why it took so long.

i only repeated it the way it came from the tampa bay's trainers office. even though i have nothing to do with them, my apologies go out that there was an error in the nhl.com website and those other sources that get their info from erroneous sources.

i only tried to make for a fun, interesting, and thought provoking question. sorry guys.

i actually have a friend who writes trivia for games... i'll check it over with him and see how i shoulda worded it correctly.
