I was curious whether there are any fans practitioners of trend based investing a la the turtle traders. Just read the book and was curious if anyone has any experience of investing this way.

Trend investing can mean a few things. Are you talking in terms of technical indicators?

Hello there,

The official trading strategy would be based on fundamentals but I've been studying trend following as well. I am personally fascinated and like the fact the very low correlations to traditional investment strategies. From what I've read there have been 2nd and 3rd generation turtles since the original project.

with my trap I tend to take a values based approach but with my tfsa I'm thinking of being more adventurous and this strategy interested me both because of its success rate and the counter-intuitive nature of the thing. That's why I was curious if anyone here had tried it.
