Actually, they do. At least if they plan on using that info to fire you.not when it is their car and their phone... it is no different than hiring a PI. The company does not have to let you know big brother is watching
Bingo!not when it is their car and their phone... it is no different than hiring a PI. The company does not have to let you know big brother is watching
Besides... they can keep all than info in their back pocket and find another reason to let you go.
DUDE, it's their freaking car/property!.....is it written LAW somewhere that they have to tell you that they are tracking you?
Not my area but I get they will know where you are. So if they want to fire you all they need to do is have Security catch you somewhere inappropriate and then fire you because they saw you there? Or have you followed once they see a pattern?DUDE, it's their freaking car/property!
They have all the right in the world to track where it is 24/7 if they desire. If you are in it then it looks like for a bonus they get to know where you are to, if you are in their car....:eyebrows:
All they have to do is tell you when the car/vehicle is issued to you that usage is monitored, same as any other piece of Company property. I do this with all of my employee's company cell phones, laptops and cars all the time, as a matter of documentation and due diligence. So long as they have no expectation of privacy, there's NOTHING they can do, I own the phone, the laptop, the car and all of the data and intellectual property. If the employee doesn't want to get fired, they need to keep a pay as you go phone for SP calls/texts, a second laptop for personal stuff and porn and do their pooning in their own car.Any employer that tries to use that information against an employee without disclosing the fact that the tracking device is there is going to have problems.
Just sayin'...
Actually, the employer/owner does not have to tell you the vehicle is tracked. They can question you on the locations where they've tracked you if the locations are not where your work should have taken you but they cannot use the tracking info in an employee's performance evaluation...at least officially.Have not got the company car yet but I knew that tracking is possible.....is it written LAW somewhere that they have to tell you that they are tracking you?
