i'm sure it would have... but not many predominatly black schools out here...compared with the predominatly white ones... and btw, the confedrate flag = "I accept slavery" to most black folks

I'm not so convinced given the way Toronto newspapers attempt to hide the race of criminals, even when tips from the public would help police arrest the suspects.
Which is perfectly reasonable in Canada, not reasonable at all when it comes to marking the graves of Confederate Veterans who were killed in action.
that is cool with me... dont have a problem at all with the flag being on graves for soldiers who died under the flag..
in the US its considerably worse... remember when the guys who got tied and dragged a man behind a truck?

Note verified but someone from the school posted on one of the news forums that the black student posted on Facebook that he can basically take care of himself in a fight (take on all comers). This FB post was brought on when the black student was trying to make advances or just talking with the white girls that had boyfriends.
The fight and unequal odds likely happens all over the place with a popular kid fighting an unpopular one. The racial slurs on the other hand have no justification.
It's funny, but when I went to HS back in the late 70's and early 80's, there were a handful of black kids (I'm going to guess 50 out of 1,200) and as far as I'm aware, no-one ever gave them a hard time. In fact, quite the opposite. They were all considered to be very cool and people gravitated towards them and sought out their friendship.
One black student even became the president of the student council in my Grade 12 year and several were "mentors" to the Grade Nines.
Fast forward to today and my niece (who lives in Burlington) tells me horror stories when it comes to racism. Shit we just never dreamed of, or would have actively shut down in its tracks. Maybe it was a simpler time and we were all born in the 60's and that 60's thing was still happening, even in the late 70's and early 80's. (Or maybe I just didn't see it, who knows.)

Its different nowadays..black teens used to be able to integrate with others, and race wasn't an issue. Now every black teen has to be "gangsta". Rather than try to mix with others, black teens have isolated themselves from others by crying racism and having a perpetual chip on their shoulders..
9 times out of 10 it is black kids beating up white kids.This seems to be generally acceptable behaviour nowadays.The liberal media tends to ignore these stories, as they don't want to offend black people or be accused of racism
The problem is blacks dont have powerful countries globally. Less embassy power and less political leverage. Any sustained discrimination against people of Chinese origin would cause concern for the China and their embassy might get involved. Same goes for the powerful Arab, Israeli lobbies. Blacks have no nukes, no giant economies, so hence their influence.
