There is a very strong anti-immigrant streak in rural Ontario.

Perhaps this depends a lot upon location, however, personally I know of many rural locations which are far more we judge you as you rather than as a member of a racial or ethnic group than more urban areas.

Now of course a huge majority of teens everywhere are to put it bluntly cliquish and stupid!

Its different nowadays..black teens used to be able to integrate with others, and race wasn't an issue. Now every black teen has to be "gangsta". Rather than try to mix with others, black teens have isolated themselves from others by crying racism and having a perpetual chip on their shoulders..

You must not know a lot of black kids (probably intentional on your part).

I would say that the majority culture doesn't have to exhibit their racism publicly because they surround themselves with people like themselves and aren't the ones being disadvantaged so don't need to speak out.

I don't on the whole think that people are racist here in Ontario. But Georgina Township... woof.

Heck, I bought a nice little property up north and for the most part have got along with most part get along with my neighbors fine. Most of the locals have made me feel more welcome than the cottagers from the burbs. I'm not white... in case you didn't know.

Somoene spoke about education earlier. That seems to be be the way. Humans will always seem to find differences wherever they may be. Heck given an absence of racial diversity, people will turn to religion or politics as an excuse to hate on one another.

Hate to say this but it is the role of the majority culture to understand and manipulate the power that they have. With great power comes great responsibility.

Minorities tend to race out anyway as a protective reflex in a strange land. People tend to get racist as kind of a protective measure in general anyway.

China and India are far from mono culture. In fact its the opposite in South Asia. Dont be so ignorant.

If you think the different dialects mean that they are as culturally diverse as Canada, I can't help you.
