I've never been a fan of basketball, which is beside the point, but the thing that I liked the least about us getting an NBA team is that I knew we'd get less coverage and less analysis of sports like hockey, baseball, F1, golf, tennis, Olympics, etc., etc. The same thing is happening as we get more and more leagues of inferior sports and the decreased entertainment value they bring us.
Networks are not making their nighttime sports reporting shows longer than an hour, newspapers are not adding more pages to their sports sections, yet now they have to cover bush league soccer, women's hockey, women's basketball and other sports that very many people have less interest in and they have to fit it all into that same allotted space and time.
Women's college basketball? Who really gives a fuck? IMO, the devoted sports fans are getting shafted with less coverage of the sports that made us sports fans in the first place.
And there's my rant.
