You're still thinking about pussy.

He had cash before his trip. He had less or little after his trip.
"The story of Craig Henshaw, multi-millionaire, began one day last September when Craig Henshaw, high school teacher, went digging through his pockets for the $35 he had left to pay for some groceries. He had just enough cash to get him through the rest of the week, before the first paycheque of the new school year would come through.

He handed over the cash, plus a 2-month-old Lotto Max ticket. It had been plastered to the side of his fridge while he had spent the summer backpacking in Europe with his girlfriend."

And adult with a well paying and secure job has no excuse not to let it get to the point where you are down to your last 35 dollars. SOP is 6 month savings, just in case. I suppose someone working a guaranteed job could do with less, but not when you are down to your last 35 bucks. However I do accept that I live in a world where saving and personal responsibility are old fashioned concepts.

But how wonderful is pussy. I'm I right.

I am not 100% sure but I believe teachers do not get paid over the summer.
No way that's true. They probably get their annual salary spread out over 12 months, regardless of how many hours they actually work in a pay period.

My mother was a teacher for 35 years.

She never got paid over the summer.

Her June cheque was larger than normal to tide her over the summer and September's cheque came early. (She was only paid once a month.)

Things may have changed a bit, but I doubt that teachers are paid in the summer

As to the lucky lottery winner - I could handle his problems.

You can't have someone else pick up your prize, or disguise yourself, though a beard and glasses go a long way.

I'd cut my phones, move out for a month or so till the hoopla died down then try to move home. If that didn't work out, sell and buy somewhere else and slip into obscurity.

As far as work is concerned, I'd be very conflicted as I quite like my boss and he would be in a hard place without me (not bragging, but it is a fact). He would be very upset if I left. The only thing I could think of would be to buy half the company from him and stay on board. I think he'd be happy with the capital infusion and I'm still there - though in a bit of a different role.

In the Toronto board (may be the same for others, don't know) you can choose to get paid over the school year or over the calendar year.

If people treated me differently if I won a huge mound of cash, or pestered me for money. I would zing it to them. Make every excuse not to giver it to them with some obvious or ridiculous excuse. What has changed that now you are responsible for their problems in life? If they are insulted or turn their backs on you, it is Karmic fate. I would wait a few years and invite them all for a good burger at a BBQ for the leaches of society.

Just because your job may not be your passion doesn't mean it's the same for others. Don't speak for everyone.
my job luckily is my passion but had I had $20mil I would have very different passions

Good for you. You don't reflect everyone however.
If your job is not your passion, then with $20mil you can get an occupation that is your passion.

That's bound to happen when people know you have money, but he can always move somewhere else and teach.

I'd have no problems. I got no friends.
You'd be surprised how much you gain after winning the lottery.

Many of which you never knew you had.

If people had the option to remain anonymous when they win the jackpot, 100% would exercise this option.

It's OLGs policy however to force you to out yourself. It's a condition you must agree to in order to claim the prize.

There are definitely other ways of identifying and auditing a claimant than giving up anonymity.

OLG might claim transparency and to prevent fraud, but it also opens you up to the problems this guy succumbed too.

Far worst could be criminal elements via extortion, kidnapping etc.

Here would be my to-do list if I won $21 million:

1. Dont tell anyone I just won lottery
2. Ask lottery people to not make my name public
3. Tell friends/family I'm going out of town for a few months to travel
4. Change telephone number to unlisted
5. Invest $21 million in stocks and/or bonds
6. Open a new bank account in a town/city away from where I live (thats so bank tellers in my place of residence dont know how much $$$ I got)
7. Collect dividends from stocks/bonds and deposit it in new bank account
8. Return to place of residence and carry on business as usual
1A Retain a lawyer
1B Retain an accountant

I recall a a few years back [3 or 4] there was an extortion case in the west end of Montreal and for a short while the Quebec lotto folks allowed anonymous claims. I played the Quebec lotto during that time. They stopped however.

As for the discovering friends thing. It can go two ways. Either you play it dumb and get all sex crazed and retard strong over the idea of having friends and end up broke after you gave everything away or you play it bitter and just assume that as you had no friends when you were poor, you can assume these new people are not your friends either and you can tell them to fuck off. I plan on doing it the bitter way.
Same thing applies to sex workers when they tell you how wonderful you are, if you are a pathetic loser either you latch on to them until they financially bleed you dry, or you just don't believe a word because it is not believable.

You can't have someone else pick up your prize, or disguise yourself, though a beard and glasses go a long way.
Nothing stopping you from giving your ticket to someone you trust, or if you want to be even more sure just getting someone to actually buy the ticket with the understanding that the winnings are yours.
There are 3 people that I would trust enough for this, one of whom is dead. Sadly I am sure there are many people who don't have this trust with anyone.

And I am damn happy about it. The system apparently has way more slaves than I could imagine. Kudos to whoever brainwashed people so much that they work, spend money on lottery and continue to work regardless of winning or losing.

I'm pretty sure you can't just give someone millions of dollars without raising a few eyebrows... and then getting taxed. big time.

generally people don't buy tickets with a firm belief they are going to win millions (that's just crazy). they buy the ticket to dream. its called entertainment. I'm glad you're happy and you're right, it is generally a waste of money but so is most entertainment. Take going out to a movie, it costs about 15 bucks and I usually leave disappointed. It's usually the same with a lotto ticket but i was able to daydream for a whole week.

Never let anybody get between you and your money. Never trust anybody including your bestest of friends and closest of relatives. Go get yours.
