- Bernier's been great in regulation and o/t, but more lucky than good in shootouts; its frustrating to watch time and again the failure to protect leads in the 3rd, however, the points gained in shootouts are the difference between the Leafs and the teams chasing them; shootouts are great when the Leafs win, LOL

- Lupul may be lost due to suspension;

- Gleason will add the much needed grit and toughness on defence, I just hope his concussion problem won't affect him much;

- I hope to see the Leafs keep the core of Kessel, JVR, Lupul, Bozak, Clarkson, Phaneuf, Franson, Reilly, Gunnarsson, Fraser and Bernier together for at least 2-3 years and see if they can grow as a team. Most successful teams were built with a core group of guys and let them develope together;

- I can see Reimer, Kadri and Gardiner be used as trade baits for a top d &/or no.1 centre, there were rumours of Weber for Kadri and Reimer trade, that'd be a no brainier for the Leafs IMO. Hate to lose Reimer but I think the writing's on the wall that Bernier is their No. 1 goalie and sooner or later Reimer will want to be traded.

Weber isn't going anywhere. Especially not for Kadri & Reimer.
DO IT !
DO IT !

Quick before Poile(Preds GM) sobers up/comes to his senses ... lol

I have to agree with Leaveit, that is not happening ...... however I have learned to never say 'never'.
I would love it though, make no mistake about that. Weber has that real mean streak in his game.

Not that I would do it if I were the Preds GM, but from a Leafs perspective I would throw Franson and a prospect or draft pick into the deal if I thought it would get this deal done.

Hello there, we're on the air,
It's hockey night, tonight.
The tension grows as the whistle blows,
The puck goes down the ice.
The goalies jump and the players bump,
The crowd they go insane.
Someone ROARS, Bozak scores,
It's a 3-2 hockey game,

Oh ... the good ole hockey game, is the best game you can name,
and the best game you can, name is the good ole hockey game!

:Eek:
lol ... "Someone ROARS, Bozak scores". That is a good one, I love it.

Nice Dens
Good trade for both teams. Liles give the Canes a puck moving defenceman and the Leafs get a rugged, tough defender.

You might have to add Gardnier to that ....

His salary of 14 million could be a reason a small market team might want to trade him ...
Shea Weber's contract was extremely frontloaded, as each day passes, it gets easier for the Predators to absorb the deal.

Yes the Flyers extremely front loaded it order to make Nashivlle not match ... They couldn't trade him right away even if they wanted but although it gets easier it's not for a couple of years and so they might consider it now .. I " think " his contract is payed in lump sums too ...

When I read about the rumour I thought it was too good to be true from the Leafs standpoint, however, considering how desperate the Predators need scoring help to boost their playoff hopes, it would not be too surprising they're shopping Weber as they are quite well stocked in the defence depth chart. It'll likely take a lot more than than Kadri, probably Lupul and either one of Franson, Reilly or Gardiner would have to be added and it could turn into a big block buster kind of deal. Reilly is the only one I'd be reluctant to give up.

Doubt the Preds want to move him but I wonder if they would look at Kadri and Phaneuf?

Go Leafs Go!

Kind of surprised that Lupul was not suspended, he should be. Maybe the fact that he did not extend his arms in the cross check make Shanahan take it easy on him.

The Leafs defense should play like that. Old time hockey!

lupul only gets fined? he,s a repeat offender, I thought 2-3 games for sure. don,t get me wrong, this guy could play on my team anytime. I hate the way the game has gone in the last 10 years, everytime there is confrontation, everybody screams how many games for this, for that, its bullshit. let the players police themselves.

Well Lupul gets away with just a fine. Mmmm
Who knows what is factored in to the decision but I wonder if his past injury/concussion issues came into play in that he was ticked that it could have happened again and just reacted.
As much as it would likely have hurt the Leafs I think he should have got a couple of games.
