OH, the pain of it. A blown two goal lead in the third and lost in OT.
At least they got a point out of it.

New ownership for the Leafs will ....

...

wait for it ...

....

have no immediate effect.

Thank you Damian Cox, Toronto Star reporter, for pointing out the incredibly obvious !

Gee, I figured the NHL and Gary Bettman would give the Leafs $20mil extra on the salary cap when a new owner takes over.

Damian, from now on pointing out the merely obvious will suffice.

Leafs play the Bruins to-night. Will Kessel score a goal? Will Kadri and Kaberle ever score a goal this year? Here is my prediction. Leafs will hold a 2-1 lead until 19:52 of the 3rd period when the Bruins will tie it up and go on to lose in OT. But, the Leafs get at least 1 point.

This is sheer madness. They couldn't find a tier 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 centre for Phil Kessel so now the centre for Phil Kessel is ---------------------Phil Kessel.

Am I the only person who wonders why they don't try Tomas Kaberle at centre ?
I have been mentioning that for at least 2 years.
I heard Joe Bowen mention the concept during the game against Edmonton earlier this week.

It couldn't hurt to try.

Kadri, Kessel in the shoot out ! Woo Hoo !!

Still does not count as a real goal, but it helps the Leafs win.

I see Jay Rosehill paid a hefty penalty for breaking the 'code' tonight. Godard tagged him pretty good.

Also, was that not a blind side hit on Grabovski by Conner in the last 3mins of the game?? (right before Letestu scored) no talk of it... no penalty.

the Leafs should start their comebacks in the first period lol, Im betting by january 8th (the Rock's home opener) the Leafs will be 15 points behind the 8th place team.

Got to love Wilson's coaching move leaving the Useless Leaf toughguys out vs Unstoppable Sid the Kid..keep up the great work Willsuck i mean Wilson and Burke!! LOL

It's easier to come back in the 3rd cause that is when the presure is off ie everyone thinks your going to lose cause your 3 or 2 down and the other team has their foot off the pedal and is just crusing at that point .. This team will be 15 points out of the playoffs and watch and see ... Then they will end the season playing great and the GM will think a couple of pieces and we will finish 8th ...
I was being sarcastic ;) ,sure 3 period comebacks are great , but when you have to keep coming back from down 3+ etc its back for the teams health in the standings, so when i meant start them in the 1st it basaclly means leaf dont fall behind, but everyone knows they will

I know but we will agree on Wilson ... We are stuck with him till after Christmas cause Burke has a " self imposed " no trades or fires 10 days before Christmas .. Funny if he is always calling out every player on his team and every player is a player the GM got then isn't he calling out Burke ??? Yesterday he said the turning point of the game was the dropping of the puck and so he is throwing everyone under the bus ... Wow that dressing room must love this guy ...
yeah lol he didnt help much with the move of putting out his slow, big stupid goons vs the speedy Crosby Line, i guess wilson was trying to scare them i dont know lol

Khadri is still goalless.
Is he really? I thought offensive abilities is why he was drafted!

Hey, it looks like Pittsburgh has quite a few expendable players... Burke should look them up- Chris Conner, who knocked Keith Aulie through the boards with a bone crusher and Mark Letestu is not afraid of playing in the dirty area where he has scored all of his ROOKIE goals (unlike Khadri). And these kids will be sent AHL when Malkin and Staal are back. Pittsburgh is so stacked, they can't afford to make space for power winger Eric Tangradi. Burke outta like him.

The Kadri goal watch (no, not gold watch) continues. No goals in 14 games. Next game is Tuesday against Edmonton.

It has been a rather good week for the Leafs. Three wins in five games over eight days.
The way the season has progressed for the Leafs, one may have thought playing Boston, Washington, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Montreal that it was more likely they would come out with zero points, or maybe two at best so six points is great. Hell it is not bad for any team to come out with six points after that schedule just ask Washington.
Of course it does not mean anything unless they can keep it up for the rest of the season. Making the playoffs is just a pipe dream for the Leafs right now so I will look no further then the next game or two.
Next up for the Leafs, Tuesday at Edmonton.

Phaneuf scored. Kadri is playing well and is going to score his first official NHL goal soon. Giguere was outstanding.
Leafs continue the Western swing in Calgary on Thursday.
