Another fuckup. Morrow pulled after 99 pitches leading 2-1. Don't we have any pitcher who can go 8 or 9 innings? Morrow is 26 (not 36) years old, pitches only every 5th day and he is good for only a lousy 99 pitches? When I was 26, I could throw 200 pitches.
Sure you could, Skippy.

Yeah maybe, but in order to pitch in MLB you have to occasionally get it in the vicinity of the plate.

RS, underhand doesn't count. Just sayin'.

There are very few complete games not so much from the fact that the pitchers can't do it, but because of the speciality pitcher that are part of the game. Long reliever short relievers, leftie specialist, set up guys, and closers.

And at speeds higher than 28 mph.

Maybe I'm dating myself but I like the good old days when you finish what you started. I think all this "specialty" crap is simply overmanaging.

If it's overmanaging, then every team is guilty of it, not just the Jays. That's just the way the game is played nowadays.

Jays hang on for a 9-8, whew.
Villanueva gets fourth win. Rzepczynski seems to be hitting a rough spot.
Lind hits another Grand Slam. :thumb:

Lawrie's injury is more serious than originally thought. He'll be out a min. of 3 weeks with a non-displaced fracture in his left hand. Don't expect to see him until around the all star break.
Lucky for the Jays they are scoring runs right now, although there is no guarantee it will last.

Farrell (former pitching coach) and Walton need to work some magic.

I'd heard Dustin McGowan is coming around. Any further updates?

Brett Cecil is improving in Vegas and be up if he continues to improve replacing Drabec
pitching is scary, you never know what will happen with the bullpen. It's an adventure.

Cecil's latest outing was poor. Apparently his power is improving though.

Here
All very surprising for a team that felt it was so deep in pitching that it could trade its ace, Marcum, to stock its future.

Romero has suffered from lack of run support. Morrow... meh? Drabek... who knows! Cecil... lost it? Reyes... still panning for gold. Litsch... injury prone. Carlson... injured. Francisco... who? Reserve talent... with the exception of Perez, so far non-existent.

Bring on the clowns!

The interesting thing about baseball is how often “The best laid schemes o' mice an' men / Gang aft a-gley.”

And they are still very thick in the hunt. Basically, it means every team has some projections that it cannot meet.

But not Boston though.

Another lousy game by the Jays. Makes you wonder what's worse right now - pitching or the batting. The only saving grace is that it is only one team that is making them look really bad.

Al least also Bautista homered.

It looks like middle of the pack again, unless someone collapses. It's pretty clear why Boston is at the top of the division.
