.... I have rummaged through the fridge, the cupboards, the freezer. Nothing interests me. I have beef, salmon, eggs, naan bread, pate, bagels, coleslaw...

.... I have thought about all the fast food places. Burgers, tacos, subs, a slice and a pop, Korean, Shawarma..... meh.

The restaurants, what beers they have , the music, the waitresses, the ambiance, the menu.

Or maybe a cooked chicken from a grocery store, or take out sushi, frozen lasagna. Yet I am hungry!

Nothing interests me.

Then it hit me.

It's true!

I want my youth back. I want to go back in time, back to my bachelor days, or my days as a student.

I want to boil a saucepan full of water with salt and a bit of oil.

Throw it in, cook it just right,

Strain.

Shake and strain again.

Throw in the powder and the canned condensed milk.

Stir like a maniac.

Then pour a good portion of it on a plate, take the saucepan with me, mix a nice whiskey sour, search for 'Midnight Run' on streaming services, then get a nice blanket, toss it over me, and settle down..

...to the one....

....the only ....

Kraft Dinner.

Used to eat it once a week.
But something changed. Noodles fall apart. Cheese is the big difference. Not sure what they did, but haven't had it in years.

For me, as a bachelor back in the 1970's, it was "Tuna Helper". Made it in a Teflon coated frying pan, added water, Cloverleaf solid white tuna, and Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup along with the mystery powder and noodles enclosed in the Tuna Helper box. Delicious!

They discontinued it in the 80's. A few years ago it reappeared, but with different ingredients. Awful...

Lolz!!! I hated Hamburger Helper. I completely forgot about Tuna Helper. I never really liked Tuna. I only eat it to be polite at parties.

When I was a kid living at home with my family, my mother once in a while used to broil T-bone steaks, and serve them with Kraft Dinner on the same plate.

I know it sounds weird, but I loved the way the steak juices made the Kraft Dinner taste...

Ha, now I regret donating a huge quantity of Kraft Dinners in a big box to a food drive just last week. We must have bought the bulk amount probably at Costco some time ago. Oh well, I'm in the mood of Mr. Noodles right now anyway. Instant ramen noodles was always quicker and easier to make than KD. That's exactly why nobody ate the KD here because it was too fucking hard to make. Yup, I said it...too friggin' hard to make compared to instant noodles. LOL

Condensed milk? Never tried that. Might have to buy a box next time I'm at the grocery store. The breadcrumbs are a good topping. I will melt a bit of butter in a bowl and mix in the breadcrumbs before topping the KD

And for some reason I like the spirals much better... 🤷‍♂️ Anyone else?

It has been discontinued Tuna Helper in Canada. I have a box that I have refused to eat because it is the last one.

I did buy milk though to eat it this week as I just can't fight the craving anymore. LOL.
