Tipping SPs

Hi All:

Is tipping expected by Service Providers (SP) who work through agencies - or even independents for that matter. If so, how much on a $160 HH or $300 H appointment? Of course, I have no problem tipping and gladly do so for good service, just curious what is expected by the SP. Would a standard "ho-hum" session merit a tip?

Thanks again for time and input. I did some research on the boards and found lots on MPs but not much for tipping SPs.

Not expected.
These providers are making a good buck. Many make as much as a professional in any discipline, and tax free to boot. Do we tip accountants, lawyers or dentists?
Personally I do not tip.
I think they'd prefer my repeat business to a tip.

I never expect or demand a tip.. But once in a while, a hobbyist will tip me and it makes me so happy!! It makes me feel like I've done an amazing job and feel accomplished as silly as that sounds.. :biggrin: I think getting a gift card as a gift is the equivalent to a tip. It's really awesome to see a man go that extra mile to say hey, we had an awesome time so here is a tip (no matter what the amount may be) for your hard work and efforts to please me! Thank you to all you amazing men who make us SP's feel special and for being respectful and good to us. I truly appreciate all you awesome men.

No tip is ever required. Just like when I gift a client a GC on their birthday or holiday. It is nice but never required.

I always try to put something extra in the envelope -- sometimes just a $20, sometimes more, sometimes a GC -- just to show appreciation for the leap of faith an SP takes every time one of them decides to see me. Being intimate with strangers of all shapes, ages and sizes can't always be an easy task, and in my book it's not really comparable to what a lawyer or an accountant or a dentist does. Just my two cents.

I usually have a better time with an SP than with an accountant, lawyer or dentist...

As the other ladies have stated, never expected, but always appreciated. Before I got my Keurig the offer of a coffee in the morning was greatly enjoyed, as is putting the honorarium in a card as opposed to an envelope. My point being that it doesn't have to be elaborate or expensive, just thoughtful. HobbyHorse is correct in that your repeat business is the best tip of all!
