When I read that thread, I really wondered why I had not heard anything about it in the mainstream media (it must have gotten deleted before I had a chance to read the follow up posts). It seemed too amazing to be true, given that I had heard nothing about it elsewhere. I forget the name of the journal, but if someone can post the name, I would be interested in finding out how it is regarded in the engineering profession. I am sure that engineers must do journal rankings the way other academic discplines do.fuji said:Did you delete your thread where you were citing "scientific" journals from Arab countries "proving" that there was thermite in the WTC?
Where's this new video from, I can't understand Danish--is it also funded by some Emir with an anti-American axe to grind?
The thermate issue is now out in the open. If you have the time to listen to the video of Steve Jones presentation, (my third link above )its all there. Since this video was made, there is a new update and a release this month by Steve Jones.someone said:When I read that thread, I really wondered why I had not heard anything about it in the mainstream media (it must have gotten deleted before I had a chance to read the follow up posts). Looks like I fooled another one.danmand said:Non monsieur, You are not an idiot.
I don't remember the name of the journal itself, but it was a publication of Bentham Science Publishers Ltd., which is a United Arab Emirates publishing company.someone said:When I read that thread, I really wondered why I had not heard anything about it in the mainstream media (it must have gotten deleted before I had a chance to read the follow up posts). Given the political sensitivities, I have to wonder why the authors would choose an Arab journal, if they had other options. They must have known it would raise suspicions. Thus, I think I will reserve judgement until I hear more.fuji said:I am sure that they do fine work, but given the political sensitivities around 9/11 and the fact that it was an attack on the United States by Arab nationals, you have to wonder whether the Arab publishers have an axe to grind.

Since governments pay for science in their countries many control the research.danmand said:- without prejudice-
I have been unable to establish that the Bentham Science journals are "Arab",
whatever that means. In any event, I would hope anyone trained as a scientist
would judge an article on it's content, not on the country of origin of the journal
in which it is published.

Like it or not much of the research done today is politically motivated.
And when you are talking the US did it themselves you need a reality check. 9-11 was a result of Bush's refusal to pay tributes set up by Clinton.
Are you saying that the people who control the purse strings do not present requests to the researchers?danmand said:Are you postulating that scientific research at the chemistry department at University of Copenhagen
is politically motivated?
Play on by yourself, papa.papasmerf said:Are you saying that the people who control the purse strings do not present requests to the researchers?
This is their head office:danmand said:I have been unable to establish that the Bentham Science journals are "Arab"
So the speculation would be that scientists did that, and that is why the authors were unable to get their results published in a non-Arab journal. An Arab journal, owned by a publisher with an axe to grind, even if it normally has reasonable standards, might loosen those standards for political reasons.I would hope anyone trained as a scientist
would judge an article on it's content

Maybe "Bentham Science Publishers" is not really as reputable as our friend from Denmark pretends. It looks like they were once a going concern as a publisher that has fallen into "bad hands".
I wonder if the article Damnand has quoted was in reality written by an Arab intelligence agency, or some branch of Al Qaeda.
I guess everyone has a political agenda, yourself included.papasmerf said:demand has alway hinted at his political and religious agenda. I am beginning to see this more and more. Rather than defend his position he has taken a woodpecker like stance and began to insult those who challenge him. While I have never enjoyed his Danish language posts and URLs I have found that the practical interpretation of many of his posts to be somewhat informative in a socialists perspective.
LOL. Good one Pappy. American conservatives never cease to amaze me. Where were your cries of a socialist agenda when your man, Bush, essentially nationalized the banks?papasmerf said:Now that Obamma has began his socialist agenda we will see more from this child.
