Marner has 31 goals in 61 games. He's not just a setup guy. He's also a goal scorer.
Of course Matthews is the best goal scorer in the league right now so anyone compared to Matthews will be deemed not a goal scorer.
He's also an elite PK guy. How many other elite offensive players are also elite in PK?

For comparison M. Tkachuk has 33 goals in 70 games. So Marner is scoring at a better goals per game rate than M. Tkachuk
and if you want to compare playoff stats M. Tkachuk has 1 goal in 6 games in last years playoffs and 3 goals in 15 games lifetime and has even less assists at just 2. Yet everyone thinks M. Tkachuk is an automatic fabulous playoff performer.
