Ford warned the construction companies to get their act together. There won't be anyone alive to see an economy if we keep this up.Monitor them, implement new rules, make masks available, mandatory sanitizing etc. can't bring this economy to the halt or were going to be up shit's creek without a paddle
Yes there will! 99% of people will still be alive!Ford warned the construction companies to get their act together. There won't be anyone alive to see an economy if we keep this up.
Most, if not all, large and medium outfits are already on the reduced pace with all workers free to chose if they're uncomfortable with the risk levels. The safety reminders are constantly being repeated, several times a day, and some major changes, like the crew travel has been eliminated. Not all the sites have proper washing facilities, yet, but that's being addressed as well. The greatest threat remains to the support staff and that has been addressed by decreasing and rotating occupancy in the office facilities on sites and, off sites, having the projects run out of workers homes. The greatest assurance of workers safety are the workers themselves who are completely aware of the risks and who seriously participate in making sure that safety rules are observed at all times. I have never seen this much of attention to health and safety being embraced so universally on the construction sites. Ever.Ford warned the construction companies to get their act together. Or is it 2-3 months? Or six? Or maybe a year? It's been over 5 months in China. What's the time line? This is insane...shut down the sites! 2-3 weeks rest and they can all go back to work. The construction companies are endangering everyone not just their employees..shameful to see this in Toronto..They should learn from cities like NY and Seattle.
Did they define what is non-essential?The decision was just made, effective tomorrow at midnight.
