Here
Thanks, Oracle, for something we can all agree upon...

To a group of men with so much acrimony...

Some people do this intentionally. A cashier told me once it's common for people to try this.

Fake video.
Completely fake video. It may be believable up to the moment when the women started counting cash. It is not the way how people in experiments are paid. Also, she did not introduce herself and did not say which organisation did the study, which is against any ethic guidelines for such studies.
Total set up. As if the "hero" wouldn't even glance at the guy taking the video.

But thats OK. I've done that at a convenience store a kid is a buck or two short. Or bought (anonymously) a brekkie for a young soldier his wife and infant. Told the checkout lady to say a grateful citizen thanks him for his service. So yes its happened. And as mentioned above, checkout clerks report this happens. So whether true, or staged, it represents a reality.

agree totally
video may have been staged, but I've seen it happen & paid forward myself a few times while in the drive thru or at a store. If I have the spare cash or the ability to do a nice thing, why not. Do onto others as you want dome onto you. Just because goes a long way to help change someone's day

Yup. guy never glanced at the cameraman following two feet behind. Didn't look slightly alarmed by any of it. However. I have my own anecdote.
Was standing at a TTC subway turnstile with a ticket guy behind the glass. He was having this endless argument with a chick who was 25 cents short. I didn't get what they were bitching at each other about for about a minute. When I realized what it was about I flipped 25 cents into the box just to get it over with.Hey it's what I do. They both went silent and she went through the turnstile and he went back to being a cunt, but not talking at least.

Many years ago I was in a variety store. The clerk was on the phone with someone whose child had come home with more stuff than he had money to pay for. The clerk assured the parent that the kid didn't steal the stuff but that another customer paid the difference.

Yes, it happens in real life with no cameras. I've been on both sides of the "coin" (both benefactor and beneficiary).
