Except conservatives all through the country seem to be refusing to talk to media except on their, scripted terms.
Sometimes ambush media is all that's left.
Right, which would explain Peter Kormos flipping out on This Hour's "Single Female Voter" character for interrupting reporter's questioning Dalton McGuinty back in 2009 for being inappropriate.

This is funnier than Mary ever imagined.

It certainly is taking on a life of its own.

i'd bet that the reason his daughter was scared was because she saw that vein throbbing on daddy's head and she knew that he'd soon start hurling abuse at the lady on the phone.

who's the 'bitch' now, bitch-tits?

I'll make this distinction-- Ambush journalism is not cool. Ambush comedy is a different matter (Ie, this, or Just For Laughs Gags). Especially when it's that far over the top. He should have offered to let her sit shotgun in his minivan and asked her to look around for gravy. Seriously. That would have been hardcore and pissed off 'commies' like me (while rallying his base). Instead we get 2 911 calls. One with uttered threats.
EXACTLY, totally agree with you.
Had he went along with it, it would have done wonders for his already asshole-like image and made him more personable.

But like a hardcore, conservative pussy with no sense of humour (none of them have one really), he retreated calling the police and the dispatcher "bitches".
He didn't disappoint those that see him for what he is really like.

To be fair, the head of police claims that the word 'bitch' was never used. Mind you that's a magic hand wave. He completely failed to address the ACTUAL content of the rest of that call. So "For Nation" will say reports of the tone of the call were wildly inaccurate, while the police do their best to suppress the release of the actual call. It's a cheap sham, but he probably didn't use the b-word, while still being vulgar, irate, and thuggie. Put it this way, if the contents of that call were at all flattering, or could throw egg on the reports of that call, it would already be out there.

When people behave like idiots, there's not always a good guy and a bad guy to the story. This story has only knobs in it.

The CBC crossed the line here by accosting Ford in his home where he could have been with his family. Ford signed up for the job of public figure but his kids certainly didn't have any say in the matter. Especially as there have been serious (criminal) threats against the Mayor of late, the CBC should have respected his private space a little and found a less private environment in which to "ambush" him.

However, Mr. Ford responded badly too. He should have realized immediately that it was a joke (or at least an attempt at humour) and there was no need to call 911 (and then, allegedly, abuse the operators who took his call). There was no need to lie about it being dark when this happened (as clearly it was not). Ford obviously wanted to make the situation seem more favourable to himself so he altered the facts to suit; not cool. Then there's the who business of his daughter allegedly being there; it's starting to look like he made that up too because he wanted to garner sympathy. How low do you have to be to use your own daughter in a political lie?
