Across from Red Barn at Pharmacy and Lawrence was the Copper Kettle. Any Don Millers, east enders or Scarberians remember? HoW about dances at the Broom and Stone?
There was a copper kettle on Yonge St north in Thornhill too.
Gas @ 21 cents per gallon. Cars that were made of steel and you could fix without a computer.
Yorkville clubs and the electric circus at 99 Queen St East, before that location became city tv, were great places for the stoners to hang out.
Drive in theaters. Pop bottles you could take back to the store and get money back for them.
Hockey, when there was only 6 teams. You knew all the players and could pronounce their names too. There are so many other to think about.

Guys that come to the corner of your street on cold winter days standing in the back of a dump truck full of rock salt and throwing several shovel full on to the street.

All the cool kids had Mustang bikes, but I was even cooler with a Fastback 100 from Eatons.

In the 1970's my friends and I would make snow forts at school and around our apartment complex. I never see kids making forts now a days. Not even a good snowball fight. Man, these kids are really missing out.

ohhhhh, we used to make snow forts in the ditch outside our house. The snowplows would pile it up on the corner just over the ditch and my brother and I made the best forts. We made snow chairs and tables, used cardboard to put on the seat so we did not have to freeze our butts. We would tunnel all the length of the ditch and make an escape hatch at the other end. Damn that was fun. Remember coming in with your jeans frozen solid and your Mom would have to help you peel them off and your legs would be blue? Plastic bags over our socks cause our boots always leaked. Losing the dog out in the snow cause she was pure white and the snow was easily 4 to 5 feet deep. She would leap about and hide, all we could see were the brown eyes and nose peering out from under the snow. Snowball fights with the rotten brats across the street that always made mush balls which was cheating cause they really hurt if they hit you in the face. sigh, winter used to be fun.

Rubber galoshes. You wore these over your shoes. They went about 6 inches above your ankle and had a side buckle and fake fur trim around the top. OK so they were worn in the 60's,I'm old!
