Who saw the season premiere tonight? Absolutely amazing! I've always been a huge fan of zombie movies and someone was finally brave enough to create a series! :D

on AMC sundays at 10pm (replays all night)

awesome premiere

will it always be an hour and a half show?
Not too sure but I would think the shows will be an hour long after today

Also I loved how his wife and son were introduced... Good writing!

I watched it. Thought it was good enough to give it a few more watches, at least.

Directed by Frank Darabont who did Shawshank and Green Mile.

While well done, it was a direct rip-off of the plot device from 28 Days Later (guy is in hospital in a coma, while the rest of the world turns into zombies). I would be surprised if the creators of that franchise, don't sue AMC.

Personally, I like when the zombies move super-fast, not shuffle along. If they spend lots of time on character development, and themes, rather than just the special effects, it should be good.

After all, AMC advertisements say "it's all about the story".

Actually, the writer of 28 days later got his inspiration from The Walking Dead graphic novels which started that way, so it's the other way around.

yes seems like there are no set 'zombies' but I also dont like slow zombies but they all differ. Some even know how to use weapons in other movies. Only thing that bugs me is theres a love triangle already! I wanna watch some action not some romantic crap lol

It's from the comic book. Just download them and you'll see how the plot will be moving
The comic book and the TV show are two different mediums. Obviously, they will be taking a lot of the plot threads from the book but they will be adjusting it for television since the book is on its 60th issue (?) and the show has only 13 episodes (?). One enhances the other. Besides, what's the surprise, entertainment and shock if it's exactly from the book panel-by-panel.

I was looking forward to this for months and it didn't disappoint! Looks like a great series. I was impressed with the zombie makeup.

Yeah, I prefer it where the zombies just want to eat human brains but whatever. Interesting enough that I will probably watch the second episode. Sometimes it takes three or four shows to really get into the story.

Only 6 episodes, but it's definitely off to a great start. I guess there's talk about a 2nd season now that 8.1 million people watched episode 1!

Agree. AMC original series have the best stories and drama productions. It's hard to top MadMen and especially Breaking Bad for character development and edge-of-your-seat plot twists. I hope The Walking Dead follows suit, because I'm not sure how many more slow motion bullet-to-the-head explosions I can stomach.
