"Fedor hasn't fought a prime top heavyweight wrestler"? Who has Lesnar fought??? What has he done to get a title shot? This guy hasn't even proven himself and people are now putting him on a pedestal and downgrading Fedor and other fighters like CroCop. As far as Barnett, Lesnar would not even look decent against him.

keep in mind that Brock or any fighter do not get to choose their opponent.......ppl put him on a pedestal because he used to be "fake", and now he's shown that he can also be the real deal. You can't downplay his abilities because of who he hasn't fought.

to continue from before..........Brock has actually proven himself so far (except that 1 loss), as he's able to finish whatever's been put on his plate. Just cause he's big and strong and only "pounds out" others doesn't mean he lacks skill...........it actually takes skill to put ppl in a position where a few hard pounds will result in a quick win; and if his opponents are skilled to begin with why can't they avoid Lesnar's grasps and hits? Also, UFC rules don't state a certain fighting style has to be employed. Those who bash Lesnar's abilities, what about others like Dan Henderson, Matt Hughes, Sean Sherk......why not bash them as well? They don't have fancy skill sets like Muay Thai, BJJ, Savate, etc..........

I think that Lesnar fully deserved his title shot.

He has already beaten 2 UFC heavyweight champs, and Herring is no slouch either.

way out in left field
After 9 pages lol I just wanted to throw this out there:

If I had paid to see 101 I would be PISSED and be demanding my money back. 100 was worth it but this? I've seen better for free on spike......

well obviously you are a GSP nuthugger, 100 was worth why? because GSP won? not bashing on GSP here but the only bright light on ufc 100 was hendo knocking bisping into oblivion. other than that the rest was meh... now lets talk about 101, the main even was awesome display of skills by penn on lightweight (he should stay there, he has no business going up to WW, GSP is king), awesome display of striking by anderson silva. and a lot of awesome fights as well.

I have to admit in terms of enteratainment value there wasn't too much of a gap between 100 and 101.....

The main events for 101 were much more entertaining than 100 though the 100's other fights were mostly lacklustre.....

Lesnar first UFC fight: Loss to Mir within the first 2 minutes

Lesnar second UFC fight: Win over Herring via decision (You say that he is no slouch but his record is not that impressive and he was never a champ)

Lesnar 3rd UFC fight: Title shot again Couture... WTF??????

How is his title shot deserved again???

^ Big Nog beat Herring by decision in his UFC debut, which gave Nog a title shot for the interim heavyweight title against Tim Sylvia in Nog's second UFC fight.

Lesnar got a title shot against Couture for the other half of the UFC heavyweight belt by beating Herring.

The result, Lesnar beating both then-current UFC heavyweight champions, Couture and Mir, would also indicate that the match making for Lesnar was appropriate.

Herring was a disgrace in his bout with Lesnar. He is no match for Lesnar at all, hiding his head near the ground all the time to avoid being bashed. He was taken down by Lesnar so many times. So disappointed in this 250 lbs fighter. One would imagine he would at least put up a half decent fight.
