Don't worry, I got it. You wit did not go to waste.I've changed my mind. The French Revolution was only the second most important event in history--I was wrong.
The most important event was Paul Revere's midnight ride to warn the British that the Americans were armed.
I suspect it's an April Fools joke on FUJI's part, so mah, it doesn't really count.Make a mark in the calender. This has never happened before, and my never be repeated.
Ahh I ignore Sarah Palin as much as possible, so I haven`t watched that interview
Have to agree! The most important event was Paul Revere's midnight ride to warn the British that the Americans were armed.
You're like an anti-Gryfin. If we put you and Gryfin in a room together, do you spontaneously annihilate one another? But of course the Palestinian vermon are trying to kill off all the Jews, so they can steel their land and spread their toxic venom terror throughout the world.
If they both believe it is their room, ......You're like an anti-Gryfin. If we put you and Gryfin in a room together, do you spontaneously annihilate one another?
Sounds like another pair of contenders to assume the roles of Lokai and Bele....:eyebrows:If they both believe it is their room, ......
+1The development of agriculture.
language is so vague a point in time and place. Are you refering to the grunts and whistles of the proto language of homo habilis or the proper languages of homo sapien? There's few thousand years in that span of time, 2.5 million - 100,000 years, it's not quite a small point in time..Language. With language the whole concept of transmitting information in detail got its start. From there you get writing, to record what is said, philosophy, science, everything. But communication gave us the ability to work together and kill all our competitors.
recommended reading for everybody. Brilliant book.+1
There's an excellent book - Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond - which discusses this topic at length. Agriculture was arguably the most important development in human history. Once agriculture was developed humans could spend less time hunting and gathering, and more on other things (arts, science, literature, sport, porn, etc.) because food was now (somewhat) stable. Most great civilizations were all centered on strong agriculture which allowed a division of labour and specialization of tasks. This left great minds free to think up philosophy, law, medicine, the internet, facebook, terb, etc.
Hats off to the early farmers, they changed the world!
Yup, a lot of Vikings and Mongols became farmers. Vikings in northern France (Normany) and the Mongols in Russia ("The Golden Horde").Once agriculture was developed humans could spend less time hunting and gathering, and more on other things (arts, science, literature, sport, porn, etc.)
