Awesome. I speculate if PETA will ever agree, in wearing one of these majestic headgear on.

Most bearskins are decades old. They hold up well if taken care of, for instance they are shampooed with hair shampoo on a regular basis when they are being worn. Replacements are made from bears which have to be culled for various reasons here in Canada.

The flag is that of the Regimental Colours that are one of two standards of a regiment, the other being their Battle Honours.

This is the Regimental Colour of the Second Battalion.

When the Sovereign/Governor General/Lieutenant Governor is present (immediate vicinity) the Queen's/King's Colour is paraded otherwise typically the Regimental Colour if both are not paraded.

Paradise by the dashboard light.

Hopefully they don't succumb to dandruff issues. Perhaps the ones made of raccoon skin worn by the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, don't hold up as well as the bear skins.

I'm rather surprised that the central device on the Queen's colour is not more ornate - viz. that on the regt'l colour. It follows the British pattern of superimposing the regt's symbol on the centre of the national flag, but the device is a little plain IMO!
