It's sad that these players selfish actions are causing harm to independent store owners. This should not be happening to her.

I'm on the side on Trump on this one.

Players protesting BLM should do it on their own time.

People want to relax and watch a football game on a lazy Sunday afternoon, and not have it intertwined with politics, BLM and Black community/police.

The players themselves don't even know how to show it..... is it sitting? Kneeling? Arm locking? Waiting in the locker room? Make up your mind. I think the latest trend is arm locking.

As an aside, playing a national anthem is dumb enough. It doesn't even make sense why it's even played at sporting events. And it's not even uniform, since not all athletics or sports even play an anthem.

These protests weren't even an issue until Trump made it a target during a speech.
Up until then, nobody really cared.

But when a racist president tries to stifle protests about racism, regardless of the forum, its only natural to expect some push back.

People got to do shit like that on their own time. It's football. Fun and family on a Sunday. It's not a televised show meant for politics, CNN reporting and House of Common debates and such.

Trump is right and that players got to man up and treat the "GAME" for what it is.... a game. It's so true. The athletes might be super strong and fast, but intelligence wise are half retards most of the time. That's what you get with a bunch of 25 year olds who got a degree based off football.

And besides, NFL players should the last athletes to even protest stupid things in the world. Football players (out of all athletes) do the stupidest things, commit the worst crimes, etc..... Fuck, Michael Vick dog fighting for example. They should look at themselves in the mirror as to what kind of image to portray vs. athletes in other sports.

It's no different than any one of unless protesting a political issue. Do that on your own time. You don't bring that shit up to bring down a workplace, wedding, funeral, stand at the front of a theatre before the movie plays and start protesting your spiel etc....

And not surprisingly, these protests have affected other people. Football TV subscriptions got affected with complaints/refunds and and going by the Steelers store, it looks like many of the general audience isn't liking it either.

Of course, the football players never thought of that. It's always about them first, everyone else second.

If Trump has a position on an issue, it must wrong. That's the media narrative.

But common sense backs Trump on this one and no amount of media spin and SJW chest beating can change that.

And people still wonder how Trump won the White House.

I'm still siding with Colin and the protest against black NFL players that beat their wives, girlfriends, and animals. I'm taking a knee too!!

if it's a GAME, then please explain what difference it makes standing up or sitting down because someone is singing a song or waving a coloured piece of cloth around?

It's 2 minutes BEFORE the game where both teams put their differences aside and come together IN UNITY as Americans for the country, who fought to give them the freedoms to PLAY THAT GAME. Once those 2 minutes are over, IT'S GAME ON.

It's disrespectful to all those who serve under that flag and is the wrong place AND time, to protest.

The difference is that some guy sitting in section 300 that sits because he wants to protest isn't noteworthy. No camera is going to show him, nobody is going to care, and no telecast or sports articles will muddy the waters with political talk because Dave in the rafters sat on his ass.

But when athletes do it and protest, everyone notices and now sports pages have articles on players sitting, hiding in the locker room, owners chiming in, Trump counter-responding, and various tweets flooding the media about racism...... when the intent of Sunday 1 pm kickoff is to chill out and watch football.

NEW DELHI—Twelve people have been arrested in southern India for not standing while the national anthem was being played at an international film festival, police said Tuesday.

The arrests Monday follow a ruling by India’s Supreme Court last month that said the anthem must be played before every film screening in the country, accompanied by an image of the national flag, and that audiences must stand. The court said the rule was aimed at instilling a sense of patriotism.

The 12 people, all Indian citizens, were arrested in two separate incidents at the film festival, said Anil Kumar, inspector of police in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala state. They were released on bail.

Volunteers at the International Film Festival of Kerala, being held in Thiruvananthapuram, complained to police that the 12 refused to stand despite repeated requests, Kumar said.

Vineesh Kumar, one of the 12, told the Indian Express newspaper that there was a scramble for seats at the open air theatre where the movie was being shown.

“If we did not sit on the chairs, I thought we would lose the seats,” he said. Kumar said he had stood during the anthem before movies shown earlier in the day.

On Sunday, eight people were beaten by right-wing activists for not standing while the national anthem was being played at a cinema in the southern city of Chennai, according to police.

Police later registered cases against the eight for allegedly showing disrespect to the national anthem.

And a longstanding tradition it is, since way back in 2009.

Btw, I think fighting for what's in the Constitution (you know, stuff like the First Amendment) is a little higher on the list than fighting for the ability to play football, but I could be mistaken.

You still don't get to shit all over the anthem OR the FLAG. Well, you can as your 1A right, just as WE have our 1A to voice our opinions AND turn the tv off, boycott your game & advertisers. Matter of fact, start stripping away their federal funding to the tune of billions while you're at it. I'd rather that funding go to the VA anyway.

Get it? Good!

I watch a lot of football, and the news a fair bit too.
I haven't seen anyone shit on the anthem (how would one do that, on the sheet music?) or on a flag.
