Well I must admit I prefer the new rules. I love the fact that we can see skilled hockey and fast skating again. Seems the teams such as Buffalo, Montreal and other small fast teams are going to benefit. Nice to see the play will be wide open now. It is any teams cup to win now. :)

I love it to. I haven't seen hockey like this since Christ was a cowboy.

Not sure yet how much Montreal will benefit. Look at the game with Toronto. Sure the score was high, but look closer and you realize the point shot goal was a whiff by Belfour and 3 other goals wouldn't have happened if TML relaced the Berg/Beelak pair with two defensmen who actually belong in pro hockey. A couple of the Leaf goals were also gifts. But you also saw the Habs lack of size make a big difference in front of their own net.

Take away the gaffes and some uncoordination resulting from the long lockout, officiating uncertainty and roster upheaval, and you'd hade a 2-2 or 3-2 game.

That's a lot of if's and but's.

If Toronto replaced Berg with Neidermeyer they'd be better.
If Toronto replaced Kilger with Jagr they'd be better.
If Toronto beat LA in '93 they would have won the cup.

The games are definitly more entertaining....

Very fast and the play goes from one end to the other....

I just hate those commercials....

The one with the guy pretending he's some kind of Samurai and is meditating and then some women comes in and puts on his equipment like its is arrmor is "Super Gay"....

Especially considering that they didn't even use one of their stars. Great job at promoting your marquee talents.

Can you imagine the NBA using an actor instead of one of their top stars in such an important ad campaign?

Good point!!!

The league should have just shown some high intensity action clips of some NHL games then wasted it on some cheese advertising.

funny how tsn had a poll that asked if people liked the shootout in the nhl or not... it was 82%in favour and 18% disapproved... kinda interesting how they said 90% of those that disapproved were from central ontario...

That's probably because we have more intellectuals in central Ontario.

I disagree with the earlier reply that Montreal won't benefit. They are a small fast team with a good goalie I think they will
