way out in left field
Well, they were pretty bad for the first couple of periods tonight but Nolan pulled em out of it. The last few minutes was an intense game.

Now if they could have produced that effort in the first and second they would have come out of this with more n ONE point....

GO leafs GO!!!

Yeah, watch fairweather Leaf fans jump ship and bail when their team returns to their losing ways.
True Leaf fans never bail.
The loyal members of the Leaf Nation despise with a passion the posers that come out of nowhere when the Blue 'n' White are rolling............then call them bums when they lose.
BTW..............welcome back Steak. You were pretty quiet during the Leafs' streak.
I knew you'd come back just as soon as they lost though. Leaf haters are nothing if not predictable. LOL

Toronto has played 38 games while Ottawa has only played 35 games. Assuming that Ottawa had played and won those three games there only 4 points back of TO which is really nothing in the grand scheme of things. Some of the other clubs like Tampa have only played 34 games. If all the clubs have played the same amount of games TO would only be a few points ahead of some of the other clubs. Its better than being behind, but its not something to get all worked up about.

BTW... Vancouver is only 4 points back of TO. The New Year is going to be interesting for hockey in Canada.

Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver, are all up there. With Calgary really playing well as of late. So we'll see. Whos taking bets? Cheers :) --- Kev

You know, after I post that - I said the same thing to my brother, who is a much bigger Leaf and hockey fan ( my sport is baseball) than I will ever be. He said that there is one big difference between this Leaf team and other teams (he mentioned Ottawa, Detroit) that those other teams would play slightly injured players or rush an injured player back all in persuit of being first overall and that's why they don't do as well in the first two rounds. According to my brother this Leaf team is very careful with injured players almost to a fault. He feels it is possible that the Leafs can maintain this pace and have a very healthy team going into the playoffs. Also I am sorry you took my comments to say that I thought the Leafs would choke - far from it - I was just pointing out that history was not on the Leafs side here. Heck, I am even getting caught up in this win strick - I actually watch the entire Ranger game.

Yep, clearly the Leafs have a better strategy for winning Stanley Cups than the Red Wings (Ottawa is another story). Those three (3) cups in the last seven years were most likely flukes. BTW, how many cups have the leafs won in say, the last 30 years??
