I believe many parts can't be taking literally (especially the Old Testament), but generally it is a good book.

Fewer priests and nuns just tells us there is nothing in christianty that is worthy of being a part of in terms of spiritual worship.

I can only speak of my own denomination and diocese but the problem is if anything not that there are no qualified candidates seeking admission to the ordination process, but a lack of positions at the end of the process.

Well, the Gospel according to Shiek and the Gospel according to Goober were pretty compelling, but when they removed the Gospel according to Strongbeau, they didn't really replace it with anything similar. Since then, the apocryphal gospels, those which must not be named, often seem necessary to round out the complete story.
